Not really - to some people this is a very serious game, so obviously they don't want to be put off by a pm whilst playing, thats why imo it would be much easier to just not have a friends list.

i like a friends list because it shows how many wins/losses ive had against that person (it resets unfortunately when you take them off), destiny accidentally got deleted from my friends list twice and the 1st time we had played over 2,000 (maybe 2,500) games but sometimes i want to concentrate and i can't do that when im talking to people in pm.

I never thought I would say this but I see where greatest is coming from. This all smacks of selfishness and the attitude that "ill talk to you when I want, not when you want". It's also rather sad that the result of an online game matters more to you than friends, or they aren't that good friends.

Sadly in this world social interaction is dead, someone walking down the street saying hi to strangers would be considered weird when they are just being polite. It is the same here, all people care about is their game and their wins, other peoples thoughts and feelings clearly care very little.

im one of those what talks a lot to friends adam but its only in important frames like clan league for instance.

If it was used for that purpose than it has massive value yes, but some people would just tick the box and leave it even when a pm wouldn't affect them at all, which is when it becomes selfish.

G_echo... if its only a game and the social side means nothing then delete all your friends and never speak to anyone and see how much fun it is...

i think its a bit of both personally, gaming site with chat features and thats where social networking comes into it.

I never speak to anybody in the game....ever! (no gg, ul, wp, gl, hello and i accept no pms)

I only have two friends and both are the same person. One is a deactivated account

but I still come back because I enjoy it.

Totally agree with adam. The thing is tho theres loads of people that take this game far too seriously when it's meant to be a bit of fun, so to them winning a game is far more important than anything else.

Bit pointless making friends with people in the first place if you only want talk to them when your not in a game.

One issue I can see is clan games. Say i have a clan game with someone with ignore all pms on, and we have both done what we should and added each other as friends. I log on and see them online, so try to pm them to get the clan match played, but no I can't so I have to inbox them instead, which they may not see for a long time, by which time I could have logged off.

The defaults team would have to come down hard on people doing this as its actively making problems for their opponent.

I don't think it would be a major problem at all. Even if one is too impatient to go the game room itself and type in the chat box, a simple post on the thread would ensure the problem is sorted.
In a 5-second game, a pm box that opens during your shot is fatal. On frame ball or some other occasion in a clan game it sucks too. I just don't see a reason this can't be here.
No one should judge whether or not another player takes this "too seriously". That is no one's judgement to make. It is entirely up to every individual to decide how important a win (be it in a clan game or friendly game) is to him/her.

To me people who take this game seriously have issues. It's an online game for christ sake, sorry if i've offended anyone.....it's just some of the posts on here are laughable.

Personally I think that type of judgement in turn is a reflection on your own character. Someone who judges someone else because they play an online game has issues.

only times i would use it personally is in clan games or if i had a maximum on where i would need 100% focus

its true pool is the sister site to snooker or the guinea pig if you will but i have heard of a couple of updates which was on snooker 1st but can't remember what they was now.

its all about a bit of privacy guys, that -sometimes - is essential to have...

But sometimes, you just wouldnt pick up the phone, or even further, you would have your phone switched off for a good reason... same with pm's
