A clan ends when it is "officially" folded by its creator/captain. When a clan just changes its name, it's still the same clan. For example, before the season, Funky Warriors renamed themselves into what is now Black Ballers- same clan.
Hustlers folded- they cease to be a clan.

If a clan drops 8 players and adds 8 new ones, it's still the same clan- that is very rare. I'm guessing the theoretical example you're trying to reach is when every single player of a clan leaves and is replaced by another- an interesting theoretical case, but would never happen in reality. Also, what has it got to do with D&C?

It's never had anything to do with D&C lol. All I was trying to establish really was whether it was fair to credit 4 league victories to D&C when the team now is hugely different, or whether the success of FSE the last time it was here should cause people to say FSE are the best clan ever as some do. In both cases I would argue no.

Clan A is formed by captain X and has 10 players. After winning the league, the 9 non-captain players leave and join up with new captain player Y. Captain X recruits 9 new players. Which of these 2 clans is Clan A? Or are neither?

Hmm from a set theoretic point of view it's a very simple answer as the union of any set with a member of the set is simply the same set.

Also the logic that 3 is less than or equal to 3 applies, similarly any set is an improper subset of itself. so the team of all teams can be contained in the team of all teams and yet still be the same thing.

Clan A (the one where the captain remains) is the clan, since it's structure as an "institution" (a big name for a clan lol) remains. Again, if this were to actually happens, the clan would fold lol.

I think it's comparable to some club that goes bankrupt and leaves the premier league for 10 seasons, then finally makes it back.

Pretty sure before you said that if 8 players left and 8 new ones joined then it is still the same clan... so from the point of view of the 9, one player has left and one has joined and as 1 is less than 8, it is therefore still the same clan . Unless the clan name is the intellectual property of the captain...

The solution very much depends on the following:
team A = a1, a2, a3, ....
team B = b1, b2, b3, ....

Now the team made up of team A and B must be in the team of all teams... so...
team A' = a1, b1, a2, b2, a3, b3, ....

However the team made up of team A and team A' must be in the team of all teams so:

team A'' = a1, a1 ,b1, a2, a2, b2, a3, a3, b3, ....

However it doesn't make sense for a team to have the same player in twice, therefore:

team A'' = a1, b1, a2, b2, a3, b3, .... = team A'

Therefore no new teams are made by combining the team of all teams with any existing team. So the problem doesn't get any larger.
