I love how people think "gg" should be said once it's finished, which is just a complete misinterpretation of the meaning.

Why can not good game be said half way through a game, as it may have been up until that point? Nothing to suggest in them 2 words you're conceding or that it is the end of the game.

totally disagree with this point, i believe "gg" should be said at the end of every game, not when some1 has the final red to pot before the opponent needing snookers. it can put people off and cause people to lose full concentration on the shot. also i believe "gl" should be said at the start of every game, some people dont say it but i dont care like i will start every game with a "gl bud" or something along those lines. even if some1 flukes the win i will still say gg, not "gg wp" but still "gg" just because i dont want to be rude even if they didnt say "gl" at the start of the match.... just my opinion like

Well if that happens to you then you have real issues with your own gameplay if you get put off by 2 letters, that's your fault for missing then.

Again, in real snooker you don't randomly say "you've done pretty well so far" in the middle of a frame while the guy is shooting. You would get chased out of the club.

Distractions can absolutely make someone miss- your opponent chatting to you is a distraction.

Like i said in another thread similar 2 this not every1s the same. When people say gg wp early i'm 100% sure no1 would say it meaning it was a gg up to that point.They say it to be funny and to try and put you off and some people do get distracted by it. To me if some1 says gg early they are saying it's an easy clearance which is impossible 2 mess up thus adding more pressure on it for some people.

When i say gg at the end of the game i use it as a virtual handshake like u'd do at the end of a real match. Don't no why some players are so against it. Typing gg has evolved past just the meaning of 'it was a good game played'.

I never said I was against it, I just merely said that it doesn't just have to be said at the end. I rarely put it at the end of a game unless I actually think it is a good game (I actually also never put it half way through unless I'm playing someone I know doesn't mind, as I can not be bothered with the hassle)

Because just like Damien I completly agree with the fact, 'gg' 'gl' even 'wp' can be said at any given time throughout the match!

You play a great positional shot and leave yourself onto a good 107 chance 'gl' half way through playing amazing this is a 'gg' and like the first example, you got a cracking shot pull it off with great postional play thats always going to be a 'wp'

Also where people say if you say stuff on the crucial ball it's just an excuse, how can somebody typing put you off your whole shot? Don't blaime 2 letters for missing a curcial ball

How can someone coughing loudly in the middle of your shot put you off in real snooker? How can someone yelling in the middle of your serve in tennis put you off?
It's the same kind of distraction. If you wouldn't distract someone that way in real life, why do it here? I feel like the same rules of courtesy and fair play should apply here, that would also apply in real life.
There is no need for it and as you can see (from the multiple previous threads on the topic), it is incredibly annoying for a lot of people here.

99% of the time i dont watch my opponent i am browsing other pages just watching the scores at top of screen behind the table im on, so i know its my go when player at table changes, this results in me having no idea how opponent actually played, i will say ggwp the majority of the time simply as a sporting gesture!!

Fair point. In that case, it does come down to what it actually means. A few may disagree, but if we had a poll here, the result would clearly show that "gg" is said at the conclusion of the game.

It's how peoples mind works, you see 'gg' and think omg I got to win now otherwise I am going kick off and blaime him blah

When in allfairness if your not going pot it makes no difference what I say at any given time during the game.

Also as James stated you are ok saying 'ns ahh ul' or even have a convesation through the match but the second you say 'gg' its like WOW man thats unsportsmans like.

Also I don't say gg in the middle of a frame to point out as I know everybody will cry then there will be an awful lot of abuse so it's easier not do it but it.

The people that say gg in the middle of a game hate sitting there watching you clear up so it's obvious they don't say it meaning this is a good game. It doesn't bother me in the slightest tho so i just say gg back, that normally pee's them off even more!
