Sorry, I like a chat during the game, yet some saddos, you know who it is, id name and shame them if I could, think its a deliberate ploy to put people off.. reality check, its a game If someone says to me GG with 3 reds left, it has no influence on me whatsoever, I always smile and find it funny coz 95% of the time, they will mess up as they added pressure to themselves on an online internet game =)

Funny how some people when I fluke a shot, and then ask me why I didnt say sorry, are the same people who moan about talking during games.

I agree m_wood. I think the reason people get put under pressure on a game online is because they play it far too much. If you just played it for fun and didn't mind losing then theres no way anything would be able to put you under pressure, especially not 2 letters anyway.

The only thing what annoys me a tad is when you are playing carom you are 4-5 down and you have a shot if you hit your innings will continue or if you miss you have lost the game, And your oppenent says "gl"
Now it does not make my mouse jump, It does not take me change what i was going to originaly, Its just my oppenent is playing a little mind game and i would not put him on ignore for it.

Annd i quite like fuunky, There is only dgen who seems to get generally peed of about him though:P

Currently 28 people on my ignore list. Either for doing the crap we talked about above, or for pushing out, or for just being idiots.
Interestingly enough, the majority of the people I put on the ignore list tend to be banned or deactivate shortly after. I must be on to something...

Every few weeks I take out all the people that have been banned since. Down to 26 now

i have 7, over half not been on in months though.

i dont have a problem with funky but he tells everyone to stop being serious when he had done it himself on another thread.

but on other hand its getting way off topic though.

as for the "gg" i used to be really annoyed, people are right saying it adds pressure to clear up but not as bad as max chances you may have had, nothing like it. now if someone says it i take a couple seconds to regain my composure then i take my time and shoot

Sums it up to me, your problem if you're put off by 2 letters.

I dont mind talking to my mates during a game or if people want to chat, but you know when somebody wants to chat and when others are taking the pish.

Saying, "miss" when your lining up a shot and putting a :P after it so that they think it will come across as a joke or stuff like "your turn to miss now", there all just sad ways for people trying to get ahead on here.

People are saying that the players put off by people talking play it to much, but you dont realise that its the players talking trying to put you off that are so fussed about this game they think they need to put their opponent off to win, thats how sad some of them are.

I agree completely with seb, when they do it they go on the ignore list and then you dont have the problem anymore.

True, it affects some people, doesn't affect others. Similarly, talking into someone's shot in real snooker puts some off, wouldn't affect others. I still think it's not a nice or sporting thing to do.

It's no longer an issue for me. I am happy to keep putting people who do it on ignore- that solves the problem for me.

a counter-argument is the power tournament ronnie hosted where the crowd was restless and made lots of noise even when playing.

yes but dgen, that tournament was meant to be for entertainment only. I would also say that the standard of play wasn't nearly as good as in a normal tournament. I remember a lot of missing going on.
