The ranking points system is stupid and unfair.when you get 0.4 points for beating 820s and lose 7.7 for losing to them. so i have to beat them by huge margins in frames just to get my points back? lol. and if i'd have just played bad players then it makes destiny's record easy to beat .but with you losing 1 point every day its not exactly easy i suppose but you can still pretty easily pull it off. if funky snooker doesnt change these ridiculous points system im going to have prove that i can beat destiny's record by doing just that. i'm known for playing good players and defending my rank a lot. and giving players action on my points.but when people are higher than me do i get action from them? yeah right unless its arpeggi. tournament points is stupid too. i lose 13.7 points for losing to an 820 and win 1.1 for win

improved rank idea for virtuosos.
any professional vs virt of any number should be something like: if pro wins he gets whatever number you want. if virt wins he gets at least 1/3 of what pro wins or it becomes ridiculous.
its quite silly with 750s + too. if youre a low virt then you dont get rank hurt as much. if youre a high virt at the time you get totally screwed over lol. i think no matter what virt status you are it shud be the same ie. the low virts rank amounts shud be for all virts otherwise it becomes silly and encourages high virts to play worser players bcuz of what im talkin about. ask anyone whos bin higher than 975 if its stupid.

I've been higher than 975 and I don' think it's stupid. The ranking system is set up to make 999.9 the highest possible limit.
If you are a 985 and you play an 820, you're 165 points higher than him. That the same as an 800 losing to a 635, so I think the loss of 13 points is fine. It's happened to me loads of times as well.

This makes 990 very hard to achieve, no matter who you play. By the way, playing loads of low-ranked players won't get you there either. At some point, you gain 0.0 points for a win against a low player.

I think it's fine the way it is- this makes reaching 990 a true achievement.

ALL virts should be close in points won for both players or it becomes unfair.
its only happened a few times before that people wont defend their rank (when higher than mine) to me. im just sayin at least it gives them the opportunity to not give action back.

the rank system is fair... your expected to beat players lower than you, and if you lose, then they deserve what they get from you

im surprised you like it like it is. and i agree that getting a very high rank on this game is under rated because you need some really big winning streaks to get there. and all you need is 1 unlucky thing to happen to send u back down and possibly onto a raging tilt which can lead to more losses. but the diffference between someone whos currently say 905 and someone currently 985 is not that big a deal as say an 800 playin a 720 etc. there's not some big gap in skill amongst the virts as much as some lower rank situations etc so i still think its unfair. its hard to explain but i think u know what i mean

youre the first person who ive heard defending the way it is now. even the ones taking the big chunks of points from me are like "thats harsh"

so basically what youre both saying is that the top players are 6 times better player than people around the 820 mark and that that is fair. yes its always a challenge cos 999 is near impossible to make which i like. but things need to be altered to try and perfect the system.

a lot of the lower rank people are also resetters. which can be annoying.

It's obvious you are going to lose loads of rank if you play someone who is 165 points lower, just don't play anyone less than around 900s then you won't lose anywhere near as much.

The ranking system seems fine to me, but I'll only play people around the same rank.

At some point, you only gain 0.04 points or less from a game, so the system will show it as +0.0
Happened a number of times in normal ranked games.
I play anyone who joins my table and tourneys. Sometimes, there are 650's. That's when it usually happens. In the very next game, you'll win another 0.04, then it will show as +0.1 (the 0.04 from the previous game and the 0.04 from that game).

But yes, to get to 990 is an extraordinary achievement, which is already easier today than in the past (you can win loads more points by going on a big winning streak in tourneys with double points). Don't think it needs more changing.

in original no one plays. they stay for one frame i'll clear up and its "you're too good for me" and theyre off lol. arcaders out there give original a chance its by far the best and difficult and realistic imo. such a shame. if i play bad they want to stay then lol. thats the downside to the reality of snooker.

That's fine, it looked very much like a pushout to me. I don't play people again who push out against me and you're no exception. Luckily, outside of tourneys I have the choice who I play against. Anyway, this is off-topic.
