Basically, it's edge modification massively reducing your points. The system works, very well indeed.

yep works very well, its harder to rank now than it was years ago, double points in tournaments is what it was like before ranked tournaments came out.
when i beat destiny when he got to 990 he lost about 17-20 points to me and i was around 800 i think at the time, maybe a touch less can't remember but ranking system is fair now.
years ago as an example i beat ste_efc in an orig game, we only had 100-150 rank difference and ste lost around 20 points at the time but back then it was seriously flawed.

I preffered it when you had double in ranked games, but i know Nick wanted tournaments as the face of the game.

Personally I would like to see the rank changed halved in carom. With more people playing it now and being able to hit a 5 run, the 5 point games are making it more and more like arcade where anyone can win. The difference between that and arcade though is that a good player can win a game of arcade without the other person getting a shot, whereas it is impossible to do this in carom.

In Carom you need to be really good...lol...it's nothing like arcade...If someone breaks and hits a 5 run...the other player...gets a 6...good fight? lol...but in arcade a 50+ is enough to win...Carom rankings are fine and all the other rankings are fine, if you're good, you wouldnt need to complain about the ranking, you'd be good enough to stay at the top...just sayin'

Don't get me wrong dom, the better solution would be to increase the point limit, if only someone had brought that idea up before....

the points thing been talked about numerous times, been popular but as damee said on another thread ranking could be a problem.
