Funkypool and funkysnooker have been given a fresh new layout. This layout uses some cool web technologies which should make the website both faster and prettier.

We now take advantage of special support from browsers such as Chrome 15, Firefox 7 and Internet Explorer 9. (Internet Explorer 7 and 8 are still supported, but Internet Explorer 6 is no longer supported.)

We now have a smart box to find players, type at least the first 3 letters to search. If you are logged in it will search and return your friends first.

Adverts are shown to the left by default, but you can switch them to the right using your edit options page. (The black backgrounds are removed, maintaining 2 different looks for each web page is unsustainable.)

Other changes include when you receive an email for a message the entire message will be shown within the email.

And there are some other pages, eg tournaments are also available by type (upcoming, finished etc).

Any problems please let me know, but don't forget to include your browser type and version.

just a few of issues

1. there is no friends online list.
2. when joining a tournament it dont show who as joined also dont show how many previous tournaments people have won..

The advert has been moved to the opposite side? I find this confusing myself as everything seems to be shifted over too much to the right. But when writing/reading you start from the left hand side of the page...so to me the advert is in the wrong place but besides that small issue everything looks great!

I am not a fan of these changes. For me, its too white, too formal. My Profile now looks like a CV.

Also, sometimes I cant see the POST Button on the forum. I can not see the emoticons, or the bold/italic/underline button

its now 227pm. the Micro Tournaemnt should of started at 225pm. But I click on Tournaments in Play and it is not shown. I appreciate the tournament changes however, now you have an option of clicking 4 things, when before you clicked only 1 and saw it all.

The longer we wait for the response for the hippos, I start to feel as though we aren't going to get them .

Also if the white is staying... id advise to have some form of pastel colour background as whiter is very formal... that the stats on profiles, for instance.. the subheadings in normal font, but our ratings in bold to stand out.

how can you forget about dancing hippos? or rocketballs if hippo is unavailable.

also in power is there a way to double speed of the table? like on real power the cloth was really fast.

Profiles look bare with no colour . IMO.

i agree qith the forest fan (neenever thought i would say that) i dont like it, there is not enouh colour

I think it would be better if we had the option of having a full green screen like we used to, or the other colours, and have these colours as another option, doesn't feel the same...

First viewing for me, like the profile page, not really sure whether i like the changes as a whole or not, agree the white needs to go, too much white for my liking.

Would have liked Friendly tournament and Micro tournament win slots added to our profile page though, in the same way Random tournaments is done.

It's abit bright but I can get used to it.

About time Nick claned up the site and gave it and initial facelife.

The Emoticons looks abit dull though with them being on the white backgrounf so maybe they should be brightened up now.

Other than that I like it.

I really can't maintain 2 completely different colour schemes as before.

I opted for a light scheme as the majority of recently well designed websites are using a light background. Consider Google, Facebook, Flickr, Gmail, BBC etc.

There are very few dark backgrounds on commonly used or award winning websites - unfortunately they are no longer in fashion (if they were at all).

Remember for a better performing look and feel please use a good standard compliant browser, ideally Chrome 15, FF 7, Internet Explorer 9. The website is aimed at standard compliant browsers.

I will fix it to work in Internet Explorer 8 and Internet Explorer 7 but they (1) wont have all the exact same look (eg text shadowing wont work) and (2) download extra files to get the pages to function (so they are slower).
