Nearly won £100-250k.

If Chelsea had beaten Fulham and Man City beat West Brom, I would of predicted the outcome for every premiership game.

Chelsea were the first game and it was over from there but... thinking about it, its actually quite sick. I had 4 draws? Including Liverpool 5/1 Arsenal 9/2 draws... really grim.

Was a £1 bet. Get all the 10 prem games correct and you get paid between £100k-250k.

As for Liverpool, I said they looked weak at the start. Carroll was never going to be good enough. I actually think Carroll for 35m was worse than Torres for 50m. Even though Torres is useless.

I dont think Downing is any good, I don't think Adam is anything special, think the defense is weak. I dont see a greater difference between Liverpools team to Newcastles. The only stand out players are the keepers, and Ba/Suarez. Thats literally it.

I think Liverpool are the old Everton/Villa/Bolton level when they were trying to break into 5th-6th, I think Tottenham are the new Arsenal of old, Chelsea have become the old Tottenham and City are now the United.

Been a significent change in the hirachy.

Think the league boils down to fear, luck and hard work. Man United have all of these, hence the 5-0's where Chelsea manage 1-1's.

Chelsea dont scare anyone, dont work hard and have no luck.

I think City/United are the only teams that scare and Newcastle/Spurs work hard.

Spurs could be so good if they upgraded their defense.

Liverpool's defense is weak? That is the only place on the pitch we aren't weak at all! In fact we have one of the best defenses in the league. Skrtel and Agger are turning into the new Ferdinand and Vidic type partnership and Glen Johnson and Enrique have een on great form.

I disagree Derry. City are the new Chelsea, super rich and can buy who they like. Arsenal are the new City, one class striker and 10 support acts, Spurs are the new Arsenal with their attractive game play, and Chelsea are the old spurs, capable but inconsistent. United are, and always have been, united.

I think we're better than Martin O'niels long ball Villa. We play pass and move, we just don't score! Maybe we should use Carroll like they used Heskey. Then again... nahhh.

At the start of the season I predicted Wigan, Bolton and Blackburn to all go down.

I'm sticking with that.

I also predict that United will win the league, and City, Tottenham and Chelsea will finish in the top 4 spots, with Arsenal 5th and us 6th.

I predict that City will win the Carling Cup :( and Arsenal will win the FA Cup

A one match ban and a £20,000 fine for Suarez giving the fulham fans the middle finger. Ridiculous, this really. The are so many other instances of this happening and nothing has been done absolute rubbish.

Wigan wont be relegated, my 3 are as followes:

QPR
Bolton
Blackburn

Will be strange if Blackburn do go down after winning the Premiership back in the day but I just cant see them getting out of it.

Interesting discussion.
Overseas here i often see Prem League football (MOTD, football league show but also now and then live matches).
Coming champion...give both Manchester clubs 50%. Utd seem to already have their "dip". Both win rather easy their matches against lower rated teams. Also both teams will not loose points due to a Champions League calendar.
Spurs are looking good this season; good mixture of physcial power (King, Walker, Adebayor), pace (Bale, Defoe), technical skills (Modric, vd Vaart) and mentality (Parker). Modric is their key player.
Arsenal impressive after the poor start (8-2 at Utd). Too many "light" players and therefore vulnerable.
Chelsea, is getting more solid again...team is not "hungry" for winning is my opinion.
Then loads of teams which are rather close to each other regarding quality...from Villa (my club, they get worse and worse during the years) to Wigan.
Not easy to predict who will go down.
Think Wolves, Blackburn and Bolton. QPR will buy quality in january and therefore avoid relegation. Norwich and Swansea just get enough points home to get not in the last three.
Will Plymouth Argyle avoid relegation in League two???

The reason Liverpool have a good defensive record isnt because of their defense. Its just when you have 8 men defending for 90 minutes its hard for whatever team to break it down. Chelsea struggled, but position for position Chelsea are stronger, we are just a weaker unit. Sturridge doesnt like to come back, either does Mata. Our players dont defend all together, but Liverpools do. Adam is back, Lucas is back, downing is back... you just leave one guy short of the half way line and everyone is defends. Then you break.

Agger and Skrtel, to be even compared to Rio and Vidic is disturbing. But then again, Rio and vidic didnt have to really do anything as United always have the ball and the team pinned in their own peno box.

Pique and Puyol dont have to do anything. They are great but Barca let in goals so slopperly. Because their team attacks all the time, always holding the ball.

Terry & Carvalho was the same, although they didnt concead a goal for over a 1000 minutes. With an attacking team and RB and LB that are more advanced that most wingers in the prem, thats quite impressive.

I have given up expectation for the prem now. Will win finish top 4. Thats not a worry. So all our focus is on the CL. With Manc clubs out, just really Munich, Barca and Madrid. Munich I think will be the toughest for Chelsea. They like to defend and counter too much.

Haha, wrong Derry. We are a very attacking side. We must have 2 of the most attacking full backs in the division, and with Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson in a 2 man midfield no defensive cover there at all, even Agger and Skrtel get forward sparingly. Our attacking nature is the reason we are missing Lucas so much, because he's been a class holding man.

Agger and Skrtel have just been immense at the back, and we have wasted so many chances up front. Hence the best D in the league but one of the worst goals for.

Agger has always been top quality and if he stays fit will establish himself as one of the greatest CBs in the world alongside Vidic, Silva and Kompany. Skrtel is just a great rugged no nonsense defender. The pair of them are better than Rio, but then again most defenders are these days, Vidic is a notch or 2 above though.

Every game we have dropped points in bar Spuds and Swansea we should have won, and won easy. If our chance conversion wasn't the worst in the league at less than 9% we'd be flying.

Against Chelsea at the Bridge we played on the counter, but that was an exception.

I do think we are better suited to playing on the counter though, because of the pace in our side with Johnson, Enrique, Bellamy, Downing, and Suarez, which is why we play better away from home.

Maybe we should swallow our pride and play Martin O'niel style counter attack footie.

Looking forward to tomorrow 2good?
With Suarez out, and the lack of goals even with him, I'd be curious to see what you think the result will be.

I reckon we will do better without Suarez we won't constantly be looking to him to create chances and we might play better as a team rather than letting Suarez be a one man show.

To be fair he's never really a one man show anyway, but I do agree that you might just do better without him. If Carroll is playing, maybe it'll be his day to shine, although I still don't think the way l'pool play suits him at all. I actually feel bad for him when I watch him play because at Newcastle, everybody seemed to play together, whereas I've noticed at Liverpool it looks to me as though people mostly just play for themselves, which doesn't bode well for Carroll.

I think it'll be a tight game tomorrow, and probably nothing too special. I predict either a 1-1 draw, or a 2-1 win for us. I don't see l'pool winning unless of course Carroll has his best game since joining you, which although could happen, isn't extremely likely.

2 great defences and 2 strong midfield's might just make this one a stalemate.

Since we are at home I don't think you will win. Most likely a draw but hoping Carroll gets a goal, will do wonders for him. Do you have all of your defenders fit?

obertan -- tiote -- cabaye -- jonas

I mist be the only one who doesn't think Carroll should start? Why not play two far more influential players in Bellamy and Kuyt who will get back and defend and will probably work better together. They can also create chances where as Carrol stands there and wants everything on a plate for him and doesn't move around much.

If Carroll starts I reckon the occasion will get to him and he will play poor, oh and drop Adam start Spearing.

You need to give Carroll a chance. Trust me, once he starts getting a bit more confidence, he'll be outstanding for you like he was for us.

Think the game will suit Carroll. I dont think NEwcastle are the biggest team in the premiership, with Carrolls arieal ability which is exceptional he would pose a gigantic threat. Also with Carroll, he puts Newcastle under pressure from start to finish as he needs to be marked. With Suarez you need to stand off him as he is all slimey and snakey and pretty much unmarkable. Carroll will be marked tightly but will make Newcastle cautious when they have the ball.

I think Newcastle will be happy not to see too much of the ball. Just make the most of their chances is what they will want and a clean sheet.

I'm going to go for a 0-0 and even predict Gerrard to miss a penalty coming on as a sub.

But I think Newcastle could snatched it. Without Lucas in that holding role, Ben Arfa will be running Liverpool ragged. Cant imagine Adam/Hendo playing centre mid. Someone will have to play Lucas' role.

My prediction is that while all the focus is on Andy Carrolls return to Newcastle, it will be either Jose Enrique or more likely Craig Bellamy who bags us the winner

Seriously though, a point would be a good result from this one for us, but as things are we really need to pick up wins now or the leading pack will pull away even more.

Suarez is going to be a big miss, he ran them ragged last season, made Mike Williamson look ridiculous, but then again most did, I miss that guy .

I expect Bellamy to take his place with Carroll to start.

We were lucky that Arsenal and Chelsea dropped points themselves at weekend so not much damage was done, just a missed opportunity.

Edit: Just noticed that this is at home, thought we were away. Scrap all that then, get big money on a draw.

My team:

--------------------------Reina----------------------

Johnson ------ Skrtel ----- Agger---- Enrique

------------------------ Spearing --------------------

Maxi ------------------Adam------------Downing

------------------------ Bellamy-----------------------

-------------------------Carroll-------------------------

Some interesting stats Head-to-head

Newcastle have only beaten Liverpool once at Anfield in the Premier League, back in April 1994.

The Reds have won their last three matches against Newcastle at Anfield 3-0.

Liverpool have won eight of their past 10 Premier League meetings, Newcastle have won two.

Newcastle have not scored at Anfield since 19 December 2004.

Liverpool have drawn six of their nine Premier League matches at Anfield this season - five of which have ended 1-1.

They have failed to score more than once in their last six matches at home.

On that basis I'm expecting a clean sheet and us to score 1-3 goals... yet still draw
