By the way, Alan Hansen apologized for his comment soon after it aired. If Suarez had done the same, it would probably not be such a huge issue.

Again, I think it's obvious that you behave in accordance with the rules and standards of the country you are in. There's not really a question about that and it is universally accepted and applied in all systems of law. I'm not even sure why that is a point of discussion. If this had happened in South America, maybe nothing would've happened, but that is completely irrelevant.

I hope the FA keep the punishment exactly the way it is now and punish Terry similarly if he made similar comments. I bet Suarez won't refer to a person's color of skin when in an argument again. And that's the way it should be.

But that is what South Americans do. Who are we in England to tell them they have it wrong?

The arrogance of our country never ceases to amaze me.

My dad was born in Venezuala, and I can guarantee you, that although it might be accepted more to call someone a Nigerito in South America, when put into a general conversation in order to describe how someone looks, it is still used as a racist term in arguments.

Suarez is playing the whole "I'm not from this country I don't understand what's going on" rubbish... He knows fine well that what he said was demeaning to Evra, and that the basis of the insult was due to the colour of his skin, otherwise why on earth would he have said it? You don't just walk around with an angry look on your face, calling people Nigerito's, without there being any racism going on.

I know you're upset because he's your best player, and Liverpool are going to be awful without him, but build a bridge and get over it. Suarez was in the wrong, he was punished for it, and that should be the end of it.

I'm embarrassed for you that you're actually trying to defend him.

Completely agree with everything jack_pot has said. I lived in Venezuela for 4 years and the Dominican Republic for another 4. People call their friends those sorts of words, because they know it won't offend them. When you do it with a stranger, you're gonna be in trouble, even in Uruguay.

He was in England. If it's socially acceptable there, do it there, not in England. You go by the rules in the country you're in. If you drink in Saudi Arabia, you'll be arrested. You can't say "oh but in England that's fine".
This has nothing to do with England (I'm not English either). Every country insists on people following their rules when they're in the country. It's called respect. And it's the law.

I'm not upset because he's our best player (for one, he isn't, Lucas Leiva is, and so is Steven Gerrard when fit) I'm upset that he is being used as a political weapon in the FA's game against FIFA.

I'm 100% behind the lad, and fully believe Suarez is innocent, and that it will be proven when this is all said and done.

If Suarez had come out and said words to be deliberately racist, he would get no support from me, I would bet my life that this applies for Kenny and our players who have publicly backed him as well. While he is still legally innocent I will stand by him.

John Mackie was found guilty of racially abusing an opponent 9 years ago. It was fully blown, clear as day racial abuse. He received a 3 game ban and told if he did it again he'd get another 5 games. He was fined £1,500

John Barnes was racially abused every time he played for England. He had bananas thrown at him on a regular occurrence. The FA stood by and let it happen.

The FA are an incompetent, inconsistent, media panderers and corrupt organisation. As our statement said, they had decided to charge Luis Suarez before he even gave his side of the story.

The second this goes to court I am supremely confident that within hours they will decide Luis has no case to answer.

On to football, I hope we smash Blackburn all around Anfield tomorrow and The Kop make everybody aware just how much we love and stand by Luis Suarez.

You might be right about the FA. But just because their punishments in the past were useless, it doesn't mean they shouldn't start really punishing players for racist statements now.

Of course your statement said that, he's a Liverpool player... he admitted the things he said.

The FA should be consistent.

In bans yes, in fines, no.
What was the standard player salary back then? Players earn more now, so they should be fined more now. Inflation has gone up, so they should be fined more now.
With bans, the movement to drive racism out of football is also relatively recent. Things change depending on the mood of the time. In the 70's, nobody would've cared. Does that mean that in the name of consistency the FA can never ban anyone?
I would agree that any Terry suspension (if he's guilty) should be similar to Suarez's.

This was in 2002 though, not 1970.

A 3 game ban for a fully blown racist outburst, compared to an 8 game ban for a foreigner who perhaps wasn't aware he was causing so much offence.

The size of the fine doesn't really bother me, I think it is worked out on income anyhow.

The annoying thing is the FA waited 3 months before finally coming to their decision, 3 months of Luis playing with people thinking he was a racist. Now it has been nearly a week, and the FA still do not see fit to release their findings publicly.

Why are they taking so long?

Anyway I'm boring even myself now! No more needs to be said until the FA do release just why they came to their verdict.

Until then, we can all look forward to seeing Newcastle fail to win yet another game tomorrow against Bolton.

Weird because we're playing outstandingly well considering the injuries we've had.
Demba Ba is just an absolute beast. He put the ball in the back of the net 4 times against WBA, shame only 2 counted. He's hit the post & bar about a million times in the past 4 games or so.

In all honesty, out of the past 6 games, the only one I feel was a fair result was when Norwich won 4-2, which was no doubt down to our awful defence. Why James Perch is still playing I don't know... He's solely responsible for the amount of goals conceded in the past 6 games. Worst player ever (along side Slobertan). Every other game I feel things just went against us, but we've always been the better side. The only time this season that we've been the 2nd best side IMO, was against Man City, and maybe Man Utd if you only look at offensive play, and ignore defensive play. No other team has managed to keep the ball as comfortable against us. Norwich won 4-2, but their goals were all set pieces. Other than those goals, they didn't have much going for them.

Really looking forward to playing Liverpool. I think it'll be the most interesting match of the season so far for us, depending on whether or not we get a good result tomorrow.

Lost all patience for AVB.

The only reasonable equation... is that AVB is a Arsenal/Liverpool/Tottenham/Man Utd/Man City/ Fulham fan or he hates Chelsea/Roman.

He takes these big swings with wrecking balls and they are hitting Chelsea.

Subbing off Sturridge, our best form player for Drogba, and then sticks Drogba upfront and Torres on right mid? Why? Torres has and never will be a right winger. He will never be a midfielder, He will never be anything but a striker.

Taking off Lampard for Malouda... Another stupid substitution. They play completely different positions yet again.

For a "Magician tactician" he is just proving himself a clown.

Tried being patient with him... but he has lost my beliefe in him.

These arent even school boy errors. They are so blatently wrong, he sits in the dug out drawing... cartoons it seems, or he is drawing the crowd. Becuase he doesnt actually know what he is doing.

This is obviously too big an ask for him. He doesnt know how to defend, or attack. He doesnt no how to use strikers, he doesnt understand wing play. They players dont understand him, or what they are suppose to be doing.

Tottenham have been tipped for ages to be a good side, City have loads of money and hunger and United are just United.

Arsenal are average at best, same with Liverpool and all the rest are below average. Man United are scoring all these goals, with a really poor team. There isnt really anyone that started for United today that I would 'love' or even like to see at Chelsea. So how is it that United breeze Wigan, breeze Fulham.. and Chelsea draw both in recent consession.

We had Rameries missing again... and Torres started.

They are the two problems.

A guy who can play 1000 minutes at any top club and cannot score is useless to that team. Harsh but its true. Drogba has had less game time and he has come back to life. Sturridge scored 18 in 25? Luiz has leveled Torres. Ivanovic has leveled Torres, Terry has even outscored Torres, this season to Torres whole year!

Pathetic. Get him off. Dont play him. Cup game him. If you dont perform you dont play. Torres isnt performing but we AVB decides to play him right mid...

Fed up with how blind these people are.

Desperate measures for Chelsea. I dont expect to win all my games, and score 4+ every game, but I expect a clean sheet to be achievable, and to outscore the likes of Fulham, Wigan and even Tottenham.

The way its going top 4 will fizzle. Which would end Chelsea as a club. Its not just about this season. Failure means financially crippled, end.

Oh another one who takes a keen interest in Liverpools results. Good stuff.

I dunno why we didn't win, probably missed chances again, and I think Adam scored an own goal which doesn't help. (He's crap is Charlie Adam, a match of the day player, shines in highlights, he's actually very limited)

I was out watching Warrington hammer Widnes in the boxing day friendly though so couldn't tell you why we drew. I just know it isn't acceptable and Kenny needs to turn draws into wins.

Failure to put the ball in the back of the net is why we didn't win. Again.

Think we should look at Tevez in January gotta get someone who can score.

There's always suggestions for players that Liverpool might buy lol. Just look on Youtube, every single video of any completely random player, there will be some nutter going "Welcome to Liverpool!!!!".

I think they just get a bit over excited. Although they do seem to love nabbing our players from us, which actually in turn works out nicely. Look at Andy Carroll, who played amazing for us, we sold him for 35m, and now he's awful for l'pool. Enrique, we let l'pool have, and we've replaced him with Santon who is twice as good.

Maybe if they do end up buying Ba one day, he'll get injured, and we'll replace him with a Lionel Messi.

Might Chelsea become the first ever club to pay another club to take a player off them? Might be the only way to get rid of Torres...
