Demba had more of the ball than Ferdinand did.. It was clear that he was going to win the challenge. The reason their legs tangled was because Demba was fouled lol.
If you look closely you can actually see Ferdinand trying to slow down and pull out the challenge. He turns his head away from looking at the ball.

Clear penalty for me. Doesn't matter really though, it wasn't given and we still kept pushing. You can't deny that we deserve to be in front! I think Man Utd have only had one shot?

I have to agree with you though. We will struggle without Ba and Tiote in the team. Hopefully Pardew can snatch a striker this month.

We should do alright in midfield. Guthrie did well last time Tiote wasn't playing so I don't think that'll be a huge problem. We just need someone else that can score. Maybe Best will start scoring again once he isn't always playing for Ba. Also we have Ben Arfa who I actually think is easily one of the best players for us. Why Pardew refuses to play him that much is beyond me. He's absolute class.

Ba was brilliant again. He was completely isolated when Ameobi was on the pitch, so I have to crredit the midfield pair of Tiote and Cabaye.

It amazes me how (no offence to newcastle) newcastle can play so brilliantly with basically only 3 attacking players and no wingers, yet Chelsea with so much extra quality and power can be so poor.

Newcastle are playing well because they are playing together. You can see how hungry they are, Krul celebrating, Simpson throwing his body at it, Tiote tackling anything that moves within 10 metres of him. Ba being as clinical as ever.

But will be a huge miss when what is it 80%+ of your goals? Are Demba Ba and your best player imo Tiote, are both gone.

Can I see Best or Ameobi filling his boots? Not at all, but thats not the problem, the problem is your tank, the whole machine (Tiote) won't be making those tackles and breaking up play.

Was a penalty imo. Even if Rio did tickle the ball, Ba would of still got a shot away had Rio not brought him down. goalscoring oppitunity and a red card. Man United (a bit like Chelsea) are struggling at the moment. I think its beliefe and hard work that are missing. Both teams so complacent.

Watching Rio, Jones and Evra trying to defend cheered me up no end.

All 3 are truly awful.

Jones is good in midfield, but Christ, at the back he is shocking.

Evra has been crap for 18 months, and Rio has just gone completely.

And as for the midfield, wtf is it? Every time Ryan Giggs plays they lose, and to put him in along side Park!? Wow.

Injuries have screwed them over, but their second string is worse than ours!

Class performance of Newcastle tonight. Like Derry said....they were very hungry and felt Utd was vulnerable.
Ba/Ameobi strong couple up front. Cabaye good player. Tiote was in Holland the weakest link for Twente (during McLaren's time)...rather weird he is now a crucial player for the Geordies.

Urgh we all know Negro means black. I'm half Spanish so I'm well aware of this. Suarez used the word in an argument though, and Evra wasn't happy about it, so whether he is actually racist or not (I don't think he is), what he said WAS racist.

Evra wasn't happy about it because he thought what he said was the nig word.

He said so in his statement, that he understood the word to be nig... but now he knows it to mean black.

The fact is we will never know if what Suarez said was through anger or to try to defuse an argument, but from the videos it looked as though Evra was the angry one and that Luis wanted to be friends.
