Jeez UEFA really have to get their finger out and bring in goaline technology soon. Sepp Blatter really has alot to answer for.

Just like Lampard's disallowed goal, we'd have definitely gone on to win the 2010 World Cup if that was given. Wasn't like we were playing crap or anything...

lol you're right, the almighty Germany were all over you.
Probably the best I've ever seen us play in those two games (England/Argentina).

Plenty of games throughout history where a team has dominated gone 2-0 up (and more) only to lose the game.
Whether people like it or not, 2-2 should have been the scoreline. 2-2 creates a far different game than 2-1, as was shown when Germany scored the rest of their goals on the break.
We will never know what would have happened from there on in, but England certainly wouldn't have been throwing bodies up the pitch to the extent they did.
Hopefully in the Euros if and when we go out we can do so without being screwed again.

Just looking at Shankly and some of his old quotes some are really amusing:
Talking to a reporter about Roger Hunt - 'Yes Roger Hunt misses a few, but he gets in the right place to miss them.'
'I know this is a sad occasion, but I think that Dixie would be amazed to know that even in death he could draw a bigger crowd to Goodison than Everton on a Saturday afternoon.' - speaking at the funeral of Everton legend Dixie Dean
After signing Ron Yeats - 'With him in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal.'
Shanks and Tommy Docherty were at a game. There was a player every other club coveted on view. Docherty said to Shanks - '100,000 wouldn't buy him.' Shanks retorted - 'Yeah, and I'm one of the 100,000!'
'There are only 2 great teams in England that's Liverpool and Liverpool Reserves'
Awesome quote lol

19:52 Tue 28 Feb 12 (GMT) [Link] meh, you were dominated throughout most of the game. It was about a 15 minute spell before the break and maybe 5-10 minutes after where you were better.
Let's put it this way, I will trade you that game for 1966 trophy?

Shankly was the king of the quotes.
"If Everton were playing in the bottom of my garden, I'd shut the curtains"
Just a great put down, I can just imagine that scenario playing out and it makes me laugh.
Another one I liked:
"Sickness would not have kept me away from this one. If I'd been dead, I would have had them bring the casket to the ground, prop it up in the stands, and cut a hole in the lid."
After beating Everton in the 1971 FA Cup semi-final.
This is my favourite though: To Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee -
"Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee!"
Also: "There's Man. Utd and Man. City at the bottom of Division 1, and by God they'll take some shifting"
Finally: On hearing a rival manager was unwell - 'I know what's wrong - he's got a bad side!'
Much better press conferences than the boring interviews managers give now!

£35 an Adult Ticket Liverpool have said for the FA Cup match vs Stoke City! That's a pathetic price to be honest and this is why:
STOKE CITY have taken the unprecedented step of subsidising ticket prices for their FA Cup quarter final against Liverpool . . . to give themselves the best possible chance of a return to Wembley and recognise the considerable expense incurred by supporters over the past twelve months.
The Club hope a reduction to the original ticket price announced by Liverpool will ensure that 6,000 supporters are roaring them on at Anfield when they take on the Carling Cup winners.
Following news that Liverpool had priced adult tickets in their allocation at £35 for the live televised tie on Sunday 18th March, City are waiving the 45 per cent they would have been entitled to from those ticket sales in order to make it more affordable for fans to attend the quarter final.
Consequently, adult tickets will be just £20
---------
That's why we love Stoke City! How many teams would do this not many they all care about the money Stoke care about the support and that's what makes the club so special!

On SSN, ITV and pretty much all of the papers, they seem to think that Robben's last goal that won the match was a complete wonder goal, worthy of winning any match.
So I suppose I'm the only one that saw the massive deflection the ball took before going in? :s
And the Daily Mirror is a disgrace, completely writing off this England team after they narrowly lost 3-2 to Holland, a team which we mustn't forget were in a World Cup Final about a year and a half ago. I heard that there was only 2 changes from the WC final team, they played against a second-rate England team and just about won, and the Daily Mirror writes us off? No wonder why this country is never successful in major tournaments.

05:31 Fri 2 Mar 12 (GMT) [Link] You do have a surprisingly harsh media. At the same time, somehow the England squad keep getting hyped up by that same media (or is it the public?) before every tournament.
Still just a quarterfinals team until they can prove otherwise...
