Whether Abromavich wants to win the Carling cup or the Champions league is totally irrelevant to the whole thing. It would have been the police, not the FA who have decided the time for the game, sure the FA could have moved the fixture to the Saturday, or to the Friday even but they haven't.

You were probably one of the ones laughing when we have been moaning about fixture congestion in the past and I see no difference. Some times it has been due to us being in Europe also.

Here is an example from Liverpool's schedule from 2009-2010 when we were last in the champions league...

Man utd - Arsenal - Fulham - Lyon - Birmingham

Played all them in 15 days between Oct 09 - Nov 09

Same season in March 2010

Wigan - Lille - Portsmouth - Lille - Man Utd

Played all them in 13 days.

Man Utd have probably had just as bad same applies for Arsenal.

Think Liverpool have been the best team so far, however when Newcastle do get the ball they don't wast it like we do. Why Carroll dived when he had control of the ball and an open goal was beyond me.

However I think Simpson got lucky with a handball on the line going un noticed by the officials, Carroll has had a few good chances for us but we have got to not just feed him let others have a shot. Ben Arfa is tearing Enrique to pieces, and what a great ball it was and what a finish it was by Cisse for the goal. Similarly Bellamy is taking the pee out of Gutierrez down that wing just not getting much lck out of the deliveries.

With Carragher in our defence, and the fact Flannagan is young and still learning a lot our defence is very frail and slow and you can't afford that against strong fast players like Ba, HBA and Cisse.

Think Liverpool need to take Shelvey off and put Henderson or Kuyt on and see what difference they can make.

Simpson should have been off and we should have had a penalty. He has stopped a clear goal with his arm.

We are playing as per, pretty and neat football but toothless in front of goal.

Lets face it their left hand side is atrocious in defence with Gutierrez there, if we stopped messing about and got Suarez up against him more often we'll breeze the game.

Don't see it happening though.

What do you make of the Reina sending off jack pot? lol, the ref's just get worse and worse, I'm sure James Perch will be embarrassed by his reaction when he watches the replay.

Fair play to Castle tho they are doing brilliant, but i think the ref was there 12th man today.

He won't be embarassed he'll be patting himself on the back thinking what a great job he'd done. If that'd been Suarez there could have been people calling for him to get out of the country. I'm sick of double standards in this stupid league.

Perchinho overreacted yeh, but Reina should never have tried to nut him lol... Deserved to be sent off regardless of how much contact was actually made.. Last 15 minutes were absolutely hilarious. Enrique going in goal for you made my day haha.
Ref was never our 12th man, we just played better than you from start to finish.. You had like 1 shot on target all game?
Can't blame the ref for having a poor team.

Plus, Carroll diving in the first 15 mins? Not exactly good sportsmanship that is it. Up to 75mins it was a good display from both teams football wise, and the last 15 mins Liverpool turned into some sort of circus act.

Anyway, we deserved the win, so that's all I'll say on the game.

Shoulda had a pen.
Second goal about 3/4 yards offside.
Perch should be ashamed of himself going down like he had been smashed in the face with a brick when Pepe (who did touch him and should know better) literally touched him minimally.
Pepe should know better and should know if you touch someone in the face you are getting sent off.

Simpson and Perch should have been off for them.
The ref ruined the game...

HOWEVER... Newcastle looked more up for it than we did today so credit to them, we let things get to us and we shouldn't have.

Pepe out for the Semi final also.

Shocking display by us, but a good performance by shelvey I thought, and I reckon Carroll put a shift in but no one was running for him to help him etc. The one mistake he made was the atrocious dive.

Altogether Newcastle performed better but the man of the match must go to the ref he never put a foot wrong for Newcastle today, well done.

Embarrassing isn't it?

Football in general is embarrassing in times like today.

Take a look around the whole stadium, cheap horrible looking Sports Direct Logs all around the ground, we are playing at a stadium called "The Sports Direct Arena" (Arena??) . Newcastle fans booing all game at anyone and everyone, singing sacked in the morning to one of their most successful former managers. All we need now is cheerleaders and a walking barcode mascot and their transformation from football club to soccer is complete.

Then Imagine the media if Suarez had have done what Perch did? I don't know how he can even hold his head up the soft sod. Reina should have just picked him back off the floor and actually nutted the stupid gimp. He misses the FA Cup semi final now.

It was almost as camp as when Robben did it about 5 years ago. Almost.

As for our performance we self imploded after the 2nd goal (which was 3 yards offside) and failed to take 2 open goals.

Until we sign a goal scorer our league form is going to go nowhere.

You joking yeh? You do realise the idiot you call "King Kenny" pretty much ruined our Entertainers team? Yeh we got into the Champions league the season he managed us but that wasn't down to him at all. He's a complete idiot as far as I, and the majority of Newcastle fans are concerned.

Oh, and I'll ignore the rest of your post because it sounds like you're just a little upset after losing. Understandable given the fact that Liverpool made complete idiots out of themselves yet again.

Carroll storming out of the stadium..
Reina nutting Perch..
Ben Arfa making Enrique fall over..
Enrique ending up in goal..
Carroll diving when he could have scored an open goal..

Quality game.

Lol I'm not even a Liverpool fan...

Danny Simpson handballed one off the line, Cisse was offside for the second goal, and in my opinion Reina shouldn't of been sent off, he didn't touch Perch and if he was intending to nut him I'm sure he would of.

Do you think the ref had a good game today then?

Just seen this quote on facebook..."I can't understand why they didn't put Suarez in goal, he's amazing at diving", lol quality!

Simpson incident was 50/50.. It was in the middle of a cluster of players, and depending on what angle you stand at, could look as though it either hits the shoulder or the top of the arm.. If the ref isn't 100% sure, then he can't give it..

Cisse wasn't actively involved as he was standing in an offside position, and he didn't touch it. When the ball was played through to him, and he went on to score, he was onside. (As far as I'm aware anyway).

Doesn't matter if he touched Perch or not. The intent was clearly there, and that's enough to warrant a sending off. Perch made a big deal of it but who cares, they'd lost the game by then anyway so what difference does it make.

The ref didn't have a bad game.. He seemed to constantly give Liverpool freekicks whenever Tiote made a challenge mind, even when they were fair, which was a bit annoying. Other than that he didn't really make any mistakes..
Got the Carroll dive spot on.
