Ignore the post all you want jack_pot but it is all true. Your stadium has been ruined by your owner who is taking the mick out of your club. Yet because you're now winning you don't care. I'll give it 18 months and you'll take a look round and start resenting what he has done to you. As for your fans they boo everyone and always have done. Gerrard was being booed today. Why? I hate them. Why were they even booing Carroll? He didn't even ask to leave! He was forced out. Why were they booing Enrique? He was a good servant.

At Liverpool we hate Torres and Owen. The rest get good receptions.

If anybody can defend the dive of Andy Carroll and the actions of Jason Perch then they are lying to themselves or care nothing about football.

Players will do anything to anything to screw each other over, it is horrible. I'm annoyed at myself for watching it at times, it is pure pantomime.

In amongst all the nonsense the game itself was even. You won it because you had a goalscorer while we have to put up with Siarez and Carrolls inability to finish.

I'm not upset at all, just frustrated with the direction football has gone in. Horrible.

I'm off to watch some semi pro Rugby in half an hour. At least they have respect for themselves and each other.

No doubt I will stich on MOTD 2 later to see Gareth Bale diving against Swansea or some soft lad pretending to be hurt.

Let me translate what really happened Jack-Pot for those who didn't see the game.

Carroll dived 15 minutes in ref spot on, Simpson hand balled it off the line ref gave nothing, Cisse was 3 yards offside linesman kept his flag down and Reina and Perch were being soft in the box before the referee (who will be backed up by the FA because of the 'letter of the law' interfered where he wasn't needed.

That is all the big talking points. Yet again we are on the wrong end of the lot of them!

Game was ours if the referee did his job and sent Simpson off and gave us a penalty.

It doesn't excuse the rubbish we played for the 70 minutes afterwards.

I think you and 2good were watching a different game. I've spoken to a few Liverpool fans after the game and although they're also annoyed about how Perch went down, they didn't quite moan about referee decisions, feeling sorry for themselves quite like you and 2good are.

You lost the game fair and square, just deal with it and move on.
Be annoyed at your own club and stop constantly looking for someone else to blame for your failures.

Dunno if you have trouble reading mate, but I've said about 3 or 4 times now that we were not good enough.

It doesn't mean the referee and his officials should escape criticism for a shambles of a performance he put in.

You are being far more biassed than me if you think Cisse was onside, Perch was nutted and the ball his Simpsons shoulder on the line.

None of those things happened mate. None of them.

Carroll, Simpson, Cisse, Perch, Reina

Dived, Handball, offside, gimp, Stupid

I didn't say Perch was nutted. I said regardless of whether he was nutted or not, Reina deserved to be sent off for the intent.

As for the Cisse goal, I'll have to watch it again tonight before commenting on it, but it looked as though he was onside when the ball was played to him.

As for Simpson, like I said before, if the ref saw it, he would have given a penalty. Yes it was a handball, but it was a close one to call.. It certainly wasn't as blatant as you're making out.

The ref was fine, you're just clutching at straws. You'll see tonight on MOTD once you've calmed down a little bit and can see things with a clear head.

If you read back you will see I said that Newcastle wanted it more and were the better team, talk to real supporters Liverpool or not and you will realise the majority had a laugh at the refs expense today as him and his linesmen were shocking.

Sending off yes, but Perch's reaction was diabolical.
Offside for the goal whatever way you look at it.
Hand ball on the line whatever way you look at it.

Not making excuses we have both said we played poor.

Stop just looking at what you wanna look at and read the whole posts.

He had a reason to be proud of himself up until that point, was probably the best player on the pitch in my view then ruined it with a shocking display in our box there. If you read my post you will see I have said the red is justified but his actions were not.

Anybody who is willing to do that has zero respect for 1) himself 2) his fellow professional and 3) his sport.

Sadly he is in the majority. He is probably one of 5 or 6 players on that pitch today who would have behaved the same way under the same circumstances.

It is very sad that footballers continue to embarrass themselves like that. What he thought he was doing I don't know. Deliberately tripping Reina up, then reacting like that when Reina confronted him.

I just do not understand that mentality, the game was already over Newcastle had won the game, all he has done now is make himself look stupid. He'll carry it with him for the rest of his career now.

This red card reminds me very much of the Joey Barton one for QPR earlier this season where he went head to head with the other player who went down clutching his head despite no movement from Barton. Barton got a red also, so at least the referees are being consistent on this . I think I'm remembering the right incident there?

I think Barton got the other player sent off if I remember.

The incident reminds me of this:

Now when I here the name Rivaldo I think of this, which is a shame because he was a great footballer.

I suppose Perch won't have that problem though, he's probably just pleased people are talking about him.

Also very similar to what Robben did to Reina about 5 years ago, too.

It is just days like this where although the result is annoying, you just feel disappointed with the sport for rewarding such actions. If we want to stop play acting then punishment needs to be handed out.

I'm coming at it from the point of view of a rugby league fan though who sees fights on a regular basis, where grown men stay on their feet after being punched flush in the chin.

While those men are fighting though at least they have respect for themselves, their opponent and their sport.

I guess it all stems from the pressures on footballers to win at all costs, it really is dog eat dog. Sadly though it is horrible to watch, and spoils the game for people who want to see sport rather than pantomime.

That's the one Michelle. Am I right in thinking the 2 incidents were rather similar?
