Just want to make people aware of this new form of cheating as its happened to me a couple of times and its very annoying!

The scenario is; your in a tourny and the guy your playing misses his shot, he then says something like,

"oh my gf just turned up, i've gtg"
and
"gl in the next round"

But never actually leaves. They do this so you lose your focus or even just stop playing, then he comes back and clears up.
When i didnt fall for it he even said

"member name has stopped responding"

Which made me chuckle!
The guy i was playing also tried spamming the pm box on match ball.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there is anything we can do about it, apart from naming and shaming these cheats, i cant think of anything.
I know its only a very small minority but dont like cheats ruining a great game.

i have also noticed alot of people just randomly telling me to 'get a life' or 'your a loser' because i play well???? didnt know it was wrong to be good or even average at a game you and thousands of other people round the world like, really annoying!

Ignore them..? If you get put off so easily, maybe you should consider opening a chat window and actually ignoring them through the game. Or chat it back, wind them up.

you can do that, but i agree it can put you off............could do without it to be honest

Playing this is like playing COD. If you don't stand where you start and let your opponent beat you, you're a noob. If you kill an opponent with any weapon, even if its the same as the person you killed, you're a noob. No one can win, everyone must lose.

the guy had a good profile, ranked mid 800's and with a fair few tourny wins, he was no mug

if only we were alloowed to name and shame, would get rid of them then!

It just don't understand why they'd do it, surely it just discredits all their achievements?

i know, and puts a bad reputation for themself, pointless

for some users its win at all cost, they don't care what they have to do.

ignore is the best option so you can play in peace

could turn all game results on and chat box size to 1, hopefully results drown opponent chat out, what i do :)

ignore is better though, it blocks whatever they write to you and blocks them sending an offline message and a pm to you too, try it you'll be surprised

From what I've read above I can't really see how the actions described are 'cheating'

Unsportsmanlike, etc. but surely the phrase 'playing to whistle' should be adopted.

Play the frame to the end regardless of being wound up.

I have ppl saying 'gg wp' when they need a snooker, you could think from that they are giving up - or perhaps not.

Professional boxers always banter before and during a fight
but it's not cheating.

I find it more irritating trying to spot the re-setters these days.
Seems looking at the usual stats doesn't always give the TRUE picture.

Is there a way of re-setting your stats for a particular dicipline without altering the date?

I've come across ppl who have been members for a couple of years, showing about 300 games that are obviously much, much more experienced and I don'y buy the
'I've only ever played friendlies' response.

Looking at the highest break I find gives the best overall facts.
