Surely a no brainer this one.
Massive tactical advantage goes on pot luck at the moment. They lag in the real game can't see why we don't on here.
Only one question comes to mind. After the first game is it then back to alternate goes? I would vote yes.

I agree with this, although I hope the true lag rules would be implemented; not the way it is on carom...
A lag will however give a further advantage to the better players, since they tend to lag better...

Personally i like the way it is just now.
I don't see any advantage to going first especially if you are playing the likes of Seb, better players have the ability to knock in a few centuries in one game so if you start first then you stand a bit of a chance to at least try and get a decent break before the onslaught comes.

There is no Lag in real power snooker so why should there be in this
And in real power snooker you do get just the same chance to pot on break so it's just the correct rules

You describe the exact reason why it needs changing. Imagine seb1 is playing seb2... Seb1 gets break, then will win 80% of the time.
As for you topgear... I watched the power tournament this year, I thought they lagged on every round ???

just looked at rules here:
http://www.powersnooker.com/rules.php
doesn't mention a "lag" however its certain normally the first player will win due to breaking twice over opponents once.
i would say either introduce a lag shot to see who gets first break
OR
add 5 minutes onto the game time as a rack averages about 4-5 minutes so it would be 20 minutes per game
either one of the above would ensure a fair play guideline, fair play if the admins don't want this though

no the time is what makes it unique, we should stick as close to the real rules as possible

It doesn't mention they toss a coin either does it...
I spent a whole day watching it, I know they lag to decide
Honestly this one is simple, it doesn't even need discussion... Also 20mins too long average frame for me about 4mins...

I was pretty sure they did this year. That being said with my miss spent youth i'd probably be inclined to believe you
You are talking about the one only like 8 weeks ago?

Yeah it is the snooker shoot out where they lag to decide who breaks first I don't think they do it in any other tournament
Maximum ten minutes per frame
Shot clock: first five minutes at 20 seconds, next five minutes at 15 seconds
All fouls to result in opposing player having the ball in hand. Clock starts when the player takes the cueball.
Players must hit a cushion (with the cue ball OR the object ball) or pot a ball on every shot.
Players 'lag' for who breaks (winner decides)
Blue ball shoot out in event that points are tied in frame (winner of lag decides who goes first). Cueball placed in D.

Leave things as they are.
It is unfortunate if your opponent starts, plays for 5 minutes and makes a century.. then you break, play for 5 minutes and hit a century.. for them to make the 3rd break and hit another century that you are unable to reply to, so you lose without doing anything wrong... but there is no real way to solve this unless you extend the time which I dont think anybody would want.
Its the luck of the draw.

Either way seb would still win 80% of the time anyway so i don't think it would make any difference when playing the best.
Why was the bonus points removed anyway for hitting a century. The rule still apply's in real life.

i don't think it applied this year which is why nick took it away

Yep the century rule did indeed get taken out in real life.
I think people must play too defensively on that game, as I usually have no problem getting onto a 4th frame (Only once gone a decent amount of time into a 5th)
But yeah, that's just the way it goes. Not too many clear from the break on here anyway consistently.
