This has nothing to do with being a moderator, I have just the right to post here as you do. Why make it personal anyway, at the end of the day you are complaining about a completely free service and even more entertaining, you are complaining about the thing that makes it free!

I understand the ads are needed, but the site is funky snooker and based around that game in it's entirity... If it slows the game and causes massive lag which makes the game unplaybale is that acceptable?

Now please, stop patronising people and if your a mod do something about it instead of throwing it back in the faces of whom are having the problem on pc's. Am fine, i work and live with macs!

There must be a way of making the ads even a little smaller, for instance, keep them low res all the time instead of hi-res. anything!

Not snooker ones so much. Your right, if it makes gameplay impossible it adverse to any business objectives.
I recommend right-clicking the ads and you can normally turn down the res and slow them down.
Try Mozilla Firefox, I can't really give details but that gives you some very handy options when you right-click an ad.
Only advised in extreme circumstances of course.
Close idle process and applications to free up some RAM space; Eg I-tunes slows everything down a lot.

Try www.linux.com or www.ubuntu.com for 100% foolproof ideas, only catch is you have to scrap windows but trust me, its worth it!

Magic black why are you totally ignorant to what people are trying to say, there is a lag problem and we should not have to ditch our whole operating system or pay thousands of pounds for a game. It has nothing to do with ram space, itunes makes your computer slow but these adverts do not make your computer slow. The adverts slow this game down, and this game only.

Also why should we have to right hand click and turn the resolution down every time a new advert comes up...the time it takes me to do that, 15 of my 20 seconds are taken and i have to really rush my shot. So if its not lagging me and making me unable to judge power, its using all my time to line up a shot.

Can you not see...something has to be done.

1- Linux is free
2- When you slow it down it last until next time you log on
3- The adverts use ram, hence why faster computers/macs don't have this problem. Therefore closing other applicatinos increases the available memory, reducing lag.

Read the step-by-step tip on increasing java memory (depending on what java version you currently use).

This worked 100% on my home computer in Ireland. Unfortunatly i have an old standerd version over here so it doesn't work well. And i must admit the sky ad is terrible!

Also, how fast or slow your system is does not effect how big the problem is.

If it could be sorted out then I'm sure it would have been by now. People complain saying it's the advertisements, yet if there are none of those, the game is no longer free.
