People do not normally like my opinions, but I will give it anyway. I am prime example of the people you described. I disappear for months on end, come back for a week or so then disappear again.
Why? Mainly because the game bores me now, because it never changes, and I am one whos been here on and off for 6 years, and used to play 3-4 hours a day .
Nothing ever gets done, all these good ideas never get implemented unless Nick can be bothered or feels like he can implement it and claim the credit. It is how it has always been.
I have paid for premium 3 times in the past but that's a con because programmes which block ads are easily found on google and are free.

Much needs to be done to bring this site's excitement back. Too many rules, too many caviats, I am 28 and this site does little to appreciate it's adult members and too much to almost make us behave like a god 15 year old.

Lots needs fixing, wont be done, eventually we will all disappear and the site willl die. Inevitable .

Well, it'll not die.... as people leave disappointed, new members join clueless thinking wow, this is good.... and on it goes until they become the people that leave disappointed and so on and so on....

It wont ever die out completely, It will become a new era in time..

Funny reading through the comments on this thread. I've been saying the same stuff for the past 2 years now. Unfortunately the admins, Nick included, are fully aware that this site is dying.

Ideas are being ignored.
Question what the admins are doing and your thread will be capped.
Why should Nick care? The more you keep playing this game, the more money he'll make, and he doesn't even have to lift a finger.

It's about time the members here started to voice their concerns. As somebody else mentioned, this site depends on YOU, and if you're not happy how things are going, then you should speak up.

I used to love this site. Played on here all the time and have been a member for about 5 years, but now I only come on to speak to people, because the games bore the hell out of me and the admins annoy the hell out of me, (apart from a couple).

Well it took someone like me to speak up because there is only a handful of people on this site and i really don't care for somebody's 'voluntary' power, this stuff needs to be said, voiced and acted upon.

This isn't a fun site anymore, it's more like a prison, lack of freedom, little boy mods controlling what we say and do.

Fact of the matter is, Nick will post some pointless crap such as ''we are currently working on some new updates''. Just something to keep us quiet for another few months.

This thread will be capped purely because, the people that run this site don't like the fact that we speak the truth.

Oh well, at least people have seen this and had their chance to say what they think and feel about HMP funky!

The most annoying thing for me on this site is the speed & micro tournaments and its the reason i dont play many because i've been stitched up so many times by bad losers and players protecting there precious ranking points by tapping break or timing u out when losing.
Its not breaking any rule to tap but why isnt there a smash break rule for every speed and micro to at least make it fair for everyone?
If u want to tap after the break then fair enough but at least it will open up the game from the start.
Its a joke, u win say 4 games and get to a semi or final and someone just times u out because they know they cant win. Its happened so many times now i just cant be bothered entering.
I've no problem with tapping and like a tactical game sometimes but in speed and micros its a joke.

Make a smash break rule for all Speed & Micro tournaments with a foul if at least 3 or 4 balls dont hit cushion and it would make it more exciting and Fair for everyone.
At least it opens up the game from the start and would probably put an end to the time outs and it might get more people entering

I agree, maybe a rule not too dissimilar to killer whereas 3 balls have to hit a cushion from the break (would only really work for arcade tournies).

I know exactly what you mean, i've been in winning positions against higher ranked players AND i've been ahead and they decide to start rolling up to balls to waste time.

agreed here ive probably got a lot of ideas (doubles, snooker plus etc) but ive learned not to post any since admins will not look at it so i dont see the point of wasting a thread

Ive seen quite alot of good ideas over the past few years but 99.9999% of the time we get ignored.. I know alot of members that have just about had enough of the game because nothing every gets updated and it seems like the sites just been forgot about.. I suppose nicks got his money rolling in and not thought about any updates since..


I do feel as we are the ones that put the money in his bank that now is the time to stand up for what we want until we get some sign of improvements..

We dont expect Nick/Admin to review/process all ideas.. but surely a mechanism of collecting them is needed, in a proper fashion, allowing assessment and update and transparency to all members. A new section under 'contact us' maybe to allow a suggestion to be put forward, then a new screen that shows suggestions logged, by whom, when, status of it etc... At least we can then monitor what's happening and maybe something will... i.e. will it force the hand if we are given transparency to Nicks plans with the site.

Maybe Nick needs to change the subscription, i.e. no more yearly amounts, but each member can choose to buy 'upgrades', i.e. no adverts.... a cue selection... a different game format etc etc..... from a collection that Nick builds up. This would encourage the development of add-on's and may be more profitable for Nick and would get us what we all desperately need, some change to the normal routine.

plus he could do firefox add-ons like blutch did but better since nick would have all the information

what would be good is if nick looked at page 1 of queries once a week then consider implementing the easy ideas every 2-3 months to keep game fresh.

Everyone complaining but what would you do without this site? Find another site that you can pick faults with, why don't we appreciate what we hve got, yes ok it needs improvements and I'm sure eventually they will be made give credit to nick for the site he has created instead of moaning about the lack of stuff it hasn't yet got.

He did get credit when stuff around here actually got done. he may do a lot for the site behind closed doors but thats what some people are asking for in this thread for him to let us know if he is working on updates so threads like this don't have to be made..

The clocks on the site for tournaments and forum posts still need sorting as they are 2-3 minutes out of sinc with the normal ten past the hr start time, and on the forums you will see posted 3 mins ago and then refresh the page it will say posted less then a minute ago.. We brought this to the attention of mods/admins weeks ago if not months..
