A good Query thread is one which has a good debate (Should there be disagreements) without any signs of anyone being aggresive. This thread has got a good debate going with people putting their points accross, and they aren't being aggresive towards eachother.

I've got a mixed opinion on this, I can see where _Brighteyes'_ and Drunklad's points are coming from, and I also agree with some. But, I also agree with some of Spinner's points...

So maybe you could Name the person, but give a vague idea of the offence?

E.G.

ToonTomH banned for cheating (It could be multi-using, getting friends to let me win etc.)

ToonTomH banned for abuse (Could be personal, Racial, Sexist etc.)

And so on.

Yet the exact reason wouldn't be given.

Are you trying to get this thread capped by trying to cause an argument not even to do with the topic?

Rams - Just because he posted something here doesnt mean he is actually playing snooker (so therefore you wouldnt be able to PM him). Sometimes people just come on to look at the forums. Eitherway I dont know what sort of conclusion you are drawing!

Apart from the off topic posts you've made rams_on_tour, why should a proper friendly debate be capped.

This is exactly what the forums are here for. Discussing ideas and potential improvements, which Nick can pick up on and use if he feels they have merit.

I think spinner`s got a fair point about showing the last 10 banned users and vague reasons for the ban. And yes drunk_lass, Nick will put this topic straight to bed with his views

I agree, the forums need posts like these, but when the posts hit a brick wall or started swaying away from original concept then they need to be capped. As long as people keep voicing their opinions then Id be glad to help keep it open.

Actually, I think should the members not be named, then Damee's idea would be a good one, it would show the what the most frequent reason is and stuff.

If there was a 'Naming' bit, Damee's idea could also be used there, to some up the rest of the bannings.

Thats a very good idea.

A brief reason for the last few banned users (for example Cheating/Abuse/Racisim/Harrasment/Multiple Offences) then a summing up as suggested by Damee.

No permanent record against any user.

Clears the whole thing up nicely.

Remember this would only apply to anyone banned in the future, so people deciding to commit such offences would know full well the consequences.

Lets face it, if you're banned now, people already know you have done something really reprehensable. And as drunk_lass said, the reason comes out anyway.

Nothing would change other than tidying things up.

The reason this was suggested being capped is what's said is said, and its pretty much only like 3 users going back and forth on it anyways. I'm on page with lass and would like to see nick put his final stamp on the idea
