Following on from damee's thread ( http://www.funkysnooker.com/viewTopic.do?topicid=3224 ) about a possible new game, I'd like a quick poll to see what the demand is for billiards (UK name) or Carom billiards (international name).

I've not played or watched much myself. From my brief research it seems that Three-cushion Carom is the most popular flavour, with the official rules found here http://www.umb.org/

So, who would regularly play this game, and what (carom) billiard game would you prefer?

I like the idea of 3 cushion Carom. I watched it on Sky Sports one time and was amazed at how the ball was moving, so I would definetly play that.

Agree with ya there nick. Likewise i don't really watch or play billiards but just had a quick look at the rules.

Personally I find billiards to be more pool related and would prefer the 15 red arcade, but thats just my opinion.

Agree, i think billiards looks pretty boring when i looked at the video what damee posted.

As for the 15 red arcade, it will just be like the 10 arcade and it will be just as easy to get a 147 as 107 in my view. I would like it to get added tho

I think at first every one will play billiards, but the numbers would die down after say a week or two cause it looks boring!

15 reds sounds alot better to me

I'm not overly sure about the different rules with billiards, but the one in which you have to go in-off a lot I like the idea of.

I would, of course play the game, as it requires a high amount of cue ball control, but it doesn't, imo, seem to offer a great number of achievable stats, compared to other disciplines.

I think this needs to be thought about a great deal, not only to interest all existing users, but we need something to try and attract new ones!

I dint think people would be as interested in billiards as the 15 red arcade idea, and i agree with the 15 red arcade, however i personally dont mind a game of billiards now and then.

Exactly thats the reason i don't play pool is because it doesn't have a great deal of Achievable stats, were as snooker has loads, so in my eyes billiards is a big no for me, although seeing it again involves great cue ball control its looks a great challenge, but only good enough for 2 weeks or so, so no point in wasting a new game if its just going to lose interest after a couple of weeks!

The feed back is 50/50 so no one can argue if it is brought in, so come on nick bring us something new

i like the 15 red arcade quite alot aswell

i think the idea is a good idea as if you learn to play billiards it might stop you from going inoff at some shots at snooker and will improve your angles like in real life but i think that it might be a bit confusing for somepeople that dont know the game because it is not as popular as snooker but i would like a billiards game because i would play it alot but its if any other people would play it

Yeah obviously we all would want it introduced now, but what am trying to say is if i had a choice of games Billiards would be near the bottom for me, but if he isn't interested in introducing any more games other than Billiards then get it in now if you want

Are you suggesting that to replace the original game, or as well as the game? Because I don't think 3 games would be sustainable. Making the original a little smaller and increasing the ball diameter would be good.

So how about killer instead of billiards, then?
