Hmm... As Nick said on pool when the updates were implemented... "it was broken!". The layout of the game was somewhat difficult for newer members to get to grips with in a hurry.... now it is far more intuative, and IMO looks better!

As for the loss of table space, and quality of the snooker balls... I believe it is Nicks intention to try and gain as much space as possible, and to retain these upgrades, which is what happened on pool.... Nick was eventually able to get the pool table back to its original size.

I personally see very little difference in table size, but I understand there is a decrease of 5 pixels... such things as a reduce of the chat area and/or relocating the adverts, to have them horizontally (which, by the way nick, I have very little space for on my screen!) have been suggested to get some space back... And I believe nick is looking for feedback, in order to come to some sort of compromise.

The bar at the bottom is the status bar and can be removed for any browser, for Internet Explorer please see:

A very tired cliche that's initially been said about every change made. The organisation within this frame is cleaner and more intuitive. If you ever sit down to watch a new user use the game they were confused and often gave up before even playing a game.

Anyway, back to size issue. The changes which gave pool back to it's original size are already in place in snooker. I can make the text area smaller (with people still having the option to increase should they desire), or offer a widescreen version of the game with a banner advert to the left instead of above.

To improve your game window size.

If you have status bars showing on your game popup window please follow these steps:

Internet Explorer
1. Select "Tools" from the menu bar, then "Internet Options"
2. On the dialog that opens, click on the tab "Security", click "Internet", click "Custom Level"
3. On the second open dialog, scroll down to section "Miscellaneous" then select "Enable" for "Allow script-initiated windows without size or position constraints" and "Allow websites to open windows without address or status bars"
4. Click OK to close the dialog, OK to close the next dialog
5. Now, you need to close all the browser windows before reopening

Mozilla Firefox
1. Select "Tools" from the menu bar, then "Options"
2. Select "Content" then click on the "Advanced" button to the right of "Enable Javascript"
3. Ensure the checkbox next to "Hide the status bar" is enabled
4. Click OK to close the dialog, OK to close the Options dialog

Great. I forgot that some people may still have status bars enabled.

I no where you are coming from nick, but I think at the top of the screen I think it just looks messy with how big the writing it etc and I no from my experiance with running websites that it is always hard to get what everybody wants into 1, but I will learn to deal with everything thats update becuase no matter what if you run a website or use 1 if anything changes somebody always has a complaint but they always get used to it!

The additional space on the top will also be used for:
1) table felt change buttons
2) improved practice options (including the rack ball button)

What screen resolution do you have?

1024 X 768

I dont think its anything about the resolution I just think its abit big

also could you put back 'Si123 to break off' etc lol

The smaller the resolution the greater the writing is proportional to screen size.

All the information containing current status should be at the top. That includes who's breaking. If you come back to the game after looking away you only need to look at the top to see the current status, as it should be.

Have you opened the game window? If you follow those steps, the status bar at the bottom of the game window will disappear.

The tables look exactly the same size to me so not sure why it's messed up for everyone else

smurfdude - I think it might be when a ball doesn't hit the cushion... can't give 100% on that though.

A ball does either have to pot or hit a cushion otherwise it is a foul shot
