I don't understand why refs automatically reach for the red-card. The penalty is the punishment for the defender, so the red card effectively most of the time ends the game as a contest. What you supposed to do as a defender? Let them score. There's a lot dross in this so called best league in the world.

It's the best rule that they have at there disposal, or defenders then have license to stop goal scoring oppertunities as much as they want, the last man rule is in the rule book to stop this, it is a deterent to stop defenders making blatent fouls.

For example if a defender brings the player down outside the box, as last man, then the team misses the free kick then there is no real punishment.

Last thing we want is the dark old days when there were 10 spoilers on the pitch

I have no arguments with the last man rule, except when the wrong decision is made, like last night, still though that was a very hard decision to make, much more difficult than the mistake rob made at old trafford, but he didnt get punished then, but he will now.

If it was a foul, then it should have been a red card, no arguments, but the fact is, it wasn't a foul. Styles was a good 30 yards away from the play, so to be able to make such an important decision without thought is mad.

And I doubt it will be rescinded, there is next to no chance of that happening for any team outside the top 4...

no wher enear a red card was one of the greatest tackles i have seen in a long time it should be rescined but like you said they are outside thetop 4 so dont hold your breath

It wasn't one of the greatest tackles of all time lol, it was just a good tackle, your over stating it because the ref made a mistake.

I never said of all time.... I said in a long time, and it was a great tackle and referees get worse each week

Like in all of our big games the refferee was absolutely rubbish!

Saw the match online, thought united dominated 1st half, everton dominated the second. Thought Rooney was an idiot kissing his united badge, especially when he was playing for everton he took his shirt off and his vest said "once a blue always a blue" orwords to that effect, think he needs to just get on with playing personally. Thought that Phil Neville was lucky to stay on the pitch for that horribly fantastic tackle on ronaldo.

Everton have moved up a bit in the league with that point but maybe only till tommorow.

Another fantastic win for Hull 3-0 over WBA, i was delighted as i had mcshane, turner, myhill, and geovani in my fantasy league teams

Aye, then a nice easy win on the saturday against United at Old Trafford. They might aswell just give us the league now.

Brilliant assured performance today, 1st half we got a lucky goal and it seemed that chelsea would come back, we were giving the ball away an awful lot, but chelsea didnt create much anyhow.

Second half thought we played the best we have all season, clever with the ball and unlucky not to get a few more.
