You no that is totally wrong! We out played you and any liverpool should be apauled to see a team top of the table to play like that they were in 1 word pathetic, Steven Gerrard is scum don't try to defend him he should be sent down baned from football and pretty much all of this sums up your initre pathetic crowd sing a song once a hour might help your team on, you no when we went anfield away we out sung you we only had 3,000 fans you come here and don't even make a effort no wounder why your support is rubbish! Yeye you can fill a ground but make as much noise as you would expect down at Accrington Stanley

Your game play was apauling, all we did was stop you from scoring and as you would expect a liverpool fan gives it a moan becuase they got only a point against Stoke City well you no what maybe if your Strikers did something today you could of had a goal, and you say you 'yet still we could have won' if you did it would of gone against the play face it you got 2 points from a possible 6 of the new boys you just arnt as good as you think you are you will never win the premier league if you play like how you did today

All I can say is you got a worse than rubbish crowd honestly if stoke were toping the prem we would do more than shut up lol and just to note your going win nuthing

Blimey (waits for scouse reaction).

Todays game with Man U and Chelsea will end 0-0 i think. Although hopefully it might be an interesting game. I find the top 4 battles a tad boring alot of the time.

Spurs will win 2-1 against Wigan i think.

Lucas, Aurelio, Reira, Benayoun, Torres and Mascherao were non existent throughout, I dont think they fancy stoke away, because of the bobbly pitch, the way you play, and yes the support.

"Steven Gerrard is scum don't try to defend him he should be sent down baned from football"

Hope that isn't the opinion of every stoke fan, or that would make them the most stupid fans in the world.

Right, Gerrard can't wait for his day in court, so he can prove his innocense. He reckons he is completely innocent. we will see what the verdict is soon anyway. To say he is scum, when he has a spotless record, is not just harsh, but it is an highly uneducated belief. Don't believe everything (if anything) the sun writes.

"when we went anfield away we out sung you we only had 3,000 fans you come here and don't even make a effort no wounder why your support is rubbish!"

That is a sad fact. The anfield support is pretty quiet in the prem. As for Stoke fans, they are loud, but without trying to sound like Simon cowell, it is awful to listen to. It sounds like 10,000 fans screeming, not 20,000 singing. Like a rugby league atmosphere. Anyway, Stoke fans are going to be up for it against Liverpool, more than us up for it against you. But to say out support is crap is also stupid when we have the most recognisable song and stand in worls football.

continued..

"2 points from a possible 6 of the new boys you just arnt as good as you think you are you will never win the premier league if you play like how you did today"

True, but when you look at the game at Anfield, we played absolutely incredibly, Sorenson and the linesman were the only reason you got a point at Anfiled. You cannot deny that - offside was given when Gerrard scored directly from the free kick :S

And I am sure that one day, we will win the prem. Maybenot this season, but hopefully in the next 50.

"just to note your going win nuthing"

We shall see, we have more of a chance than anyone of doing so.

And when I said, that I say out of respect for Stoke, that I want them to go down, that is because you are harder to beat than any body else in the bottom half. Lets face this fact though, if every team in the Prem played like stoke, then the prem would be down there with the worst leagues in the world. Thankfully there is only 2 teams that really play like that, and it doesn't seem to be so successful, both in relegation trouble.

They didnt fall asleep at all, thats not how it works. They brought on Anelka to try and get a goal back, but in doing so gave united more space in midfield, playing perfectly into uniteds hands. I personally would have left deco on.

Anyway, United looks in ominous form, but the plus side is that Chelsea looked poor and didn't seem to have an answer to break down united, meaning they are falling off the pace. United play twice now before our next game, so will most probably be top when we play everton. That will give both teams an incentive. Liverpool to go back to top, and everton to prevent us. Not that the merseyside derby will need an incentive. Big month for us and we have to step it up or united will join us on 18 league titles.

One chant and a stand doesn't mean that Liverpool fans are good. I said the same when they came up to St. James's a couple of weeks ago, they simply were crap, and they have been all the other times I've been to a Liverpool game.

Newcastle were 5-1 down, but we still out-sang the Liverpool fans, who only realised they could chant when they were winning. Everytime they scored they chanted for a couple of minutes, then went quiet.

I don't know how they've got a reputation of being class fans, maybe on European nights at Anfield they are, but how often is that? 5/6 times a season if that? They really aren't good fans.

Cos if you ever go to Anfield and hear YNWA it makes your hairs stand up on end. That one song is as good as 100 songs.

There is also this thing at anfield called respect. E.g opposition goalkeeper goes towards the kop, they get an applause, the keeper usally claps back. Sadly, this is a rare thing in football, and usually now opposition fans still feel the need to sing "you'll never get a job" (which is getting a bit old now) Yes at Anfield you get banter as well, but it never really goes over the top, even against everton - you get an everton fan sitting next to a liverpool fan even now. Noehere else would you see that, and it is a credit to both sets of fans. As I said, it isn't just the singing, it is much more than that which makes Liverpool fans, in my view up there with the very best.

I have found with Newcastle fans that they are (usually, but lost a bit of respect for them this season) behind their team in the stadium, but the second they come out, they can't wait to call the team, again, very rare with Liverpool fans.

I've had a quick look, but havn't been able to find it (Can't be bothered with trawling through 26 pages, it may have even been a different thread.

But anyway, to my point, not long ago when someone mentioned Liverpool fans and their chants you said you hated it how everyone seemed to think that YNWA was the only chant you had, now surely that's just about what you're saying here, you're top fans because of that chant?

Its not by any stretch our only song. But I said that that one song is as good as 100 - I hear fields of anny rd and poor scouser tommy more often than YNWA.

And when I say you can't wait to call your team, I mean you can't wait to say where your going wrong, what the board have got so wrong, who should be your next manager, who should leave, etc...

But I just hate it when people say we were louder than you or vice versa, cos its really childish, being a fan is much more than singing when the sky cameras are on.

This is best shown when people raise the argument - "our support is better than yours" cos it makes you wonder, what is the real reason they are singing? To get behind the players, or to say look how loud we are, we're the best" I know what I think.

Week in week out aren't we hearing about Liverpool's board and what they're doing wrong?

Now that's completely wrong, I'm guessng by the way you've been putting your point across is that you think fans only sing for attention, which is what I'm saying is wrong.

If that were the case, why is it that when teams start playing well and attacking, the noise gets louder, which then may get the players going even better, and then the noise increases etc. Surely if they just wanted to be considered as good fans then they would just be singing, not reacting to the way the team is playing. Not singing if the team has just gone down but have looked good etc.

Liverpool have more troubles financially than Newcastle, it may not seem that way atm but Liverpool are effectively gambling on doing well in europe (that is where the true money is). With Newcastle (for example) they held a big mass protest, and then boycotted the game against spurs in the carling cup. Liverpool had about 50 nutters singing for hicks and gillette to leave, and in all honsety more of a reason to worry. £250m debt on the club.

Newcastle on the other hand lost who? Kevin Keegan, a man who walks out of every job he is in.

Call Liverpool all you want, but you will never see our stadium a quarter full.

Now as for my other comment I don't fully believe it myself, but in the last week I have had simon and you tell me how good your fans are, and how bad ours are. I rarely get to go to games due to a season ticket queue about 20 years long (literally) but I know when I go I come home I come home with a sore throat and a lost voice. The next day I don't come on here and say how loudly i sung or how good the fans were, and how bad the oppo fans were. But I have been to 2 Liverpool V Newcastle games, both times newcastle fans were booing at the end of it. 'nuff said

Oh wait, I've failed to spot the irony in Simo ns post about Stoke, I used to have a static caravan in wales, and a lad there was a stoke fan, he had a season ticket, and well he told me he was more or less sat on his own. A little google search gave me this info

Stoke City average attendance 2006/2007 15,749

Stoke City average attendance 2007/2008 16823

Its now around 23000

There is a bit of irony now about Simon saying how good Stokes fans are.

Can you spot it Tom?

Wow what a difference, did they give the tickets out for free or something?

Though in all fairness, attendances are going to rise with promotion to the Premiership, but the better fans are the ones who stuck it out when they weren't here.

And our attendances, yes they've been bad this season, however, looking round the stadium, you know where most the empty seats are? In the corporate areas, they get the best seats yet they have only managed to sell the middle sections of seats this year. And that's not really where the real fans sit anyway.

Ahhh I'll be the first to say that the atmosphere is decreasing and has been over the past few years.

Yet the attendance decrease only started this season, and if you see St. James's now you would see that there is literally more empty seats than taken in all the posh areas, and they don't really add to the 'good fans' bit anyway, well most of them don't

Excuses excusues excuses Next you'll be telling me that Mike Ashleys backside took up 4 seats, so now he either goes in his box or doesn't turn up, your attendance figures are bound to drop

Right then, that's half of it done, we beat Hull tomorow and we get Milwall in the next round! Don't really know why the Milwall fans are something to get hopes up about, but everything I've heard about them it would be interesting to see them properly!

Just got to hope we win tomorow, but considering we could make a full line up with our injuries and also have a couple left over...
