I believe nolan looked at the tackle and realised he was late so then apoligised.
I must admit when a red got shown i looked at my dad and he looked at me in complete disbelief but too be fair the game carryed on as did the camera and we only seen the tackle on the side of the screen but as with most tackles it looked worse slowed down.

Sometimes where your the one doing the tackle you no it is a bad challenge but your not sure how bad, but like efc said he most proberbly went into the dressing room saw exactly what happend when he went in for it and decided to hold his head up high and apologise becuase would of known how bad it actually was!

Today all Evertonians fears were confirmed - Arteta is out for the season
I am really worried about the cup game now, we were on such a high and now i feel on such a down after yesterdays game. Arteta, Yakubu, Osman, Pienaar, Vaughn all out Felliani not match fit and Anichebe now probably out for a game or 2. pfft. Ah well we will keep fighting as always. COYB

Thats so guttering The lad was in the form of his life.
It's a chance for us to prove people that we do not just rely on him.
But it will be tough, and i mean tough!
It has no doubt put a real blow to are cup ambitions, that really is like Liverpool losing Gerrard and Torres at once he is that important to us!
Oh am so gutted

You got that completely right, Mike. I was really annoyed at first because it didn't look like there was anything in it, however, once I'd heard off my mates I understood. Then when he was booed coming back on, some people who had also heard off mates/seen it on TVs 'inside' were saying that once they see how bad it is, they'll be regretting booing which was exactly the case. I'd heard about it before he came back on, so didn't boo myself.
It didn't even look that bad on first, or even second view on MoTD, only when you got the correct view you saw really what a terrible challenge it was.
As for who has the best fans, there isn't really a way that can be argued, afterall, how can it be proven who has the best fans?

Everyone is entitled to one.
I do however need to back up Tom on Newcastle fans (I had a masive debate on them not being the greatest fans in the premiership a while ago) but the tackle did look inocuious (spelling there is shocking). On sky, the commentators weren't expecting anything other than a free kick, and until they shown it on replay, the commentators were totally shocked.
If you put Nolans reaction to being sent off with what looked like an inocious looking tackle, then no matter where in the country fans would be on the refs back. Be honest, when you 1st saw it did you think "OMG red card!!!"
If the Newcastle fans had seen it for what it was then they wouldn't have done it.
Like when Arteta was stretchered off Newcastle fans clapped him off. But when they seen Anichibie come running back on, they didn't know then A) How bad the tackle was, and B) How bad his injury was.
As for Nolan, am a little confused, he was livid with the red, yet aplogised later. Now that suggests to me it wasn't his idea to apologise, but somebody has had a word in his ear advising him to.

Hull v Spurs tonight. It's a vital game for both sides (even more for Hull IMHO). Spurs will stay up, us on the other hand... you gotta remain skeptical.
I believe we will do it, it's just I need a bit more convincing. A good performance (at least) and/or a win would see us breathing space again.
