I remember someone did, but they said nasty comments cause i created hustler and knocked about 10 centuries in straight away. It's just jealously really witch is pretty sad considering it's an online game.

To be honest wheels ste_etc is a legend of this site, and as far as break building goes, i think hes better than anyone else iv played against. He once hit a century agains tme where to be honest every single shot was mm perfect and i learnt so much from watching. I do not think accusations of cheating are remotely appropriate, and they are wildly off-topic.

Back on topic what do you guys think of my earlier post saying that its harsh to keep records in place if nobody can beat them anymore?

Wee_wheels, admitting you used someone else's account is a bannable offense. And I'm sure you aren't bothered about being banned, however arguing like you're doing is not what is accepted here. So I would request you to stop, for the second time might I add.

I got to agree with ste, I don't care that the rank system has changed and honestly why should we, ste_efc is THE greatest player on here and he deserves the rank and this should not be reset

ok agreed to an extend si, but what if ste ghimself had an even better run, but ended up short of his old rank? Its an unattainable goal for him to aim at now...

And not just ste_efc, everyone else who has managed to achieve such high rankings. Pallosalama on original for example. I liked the idea mentioned on a previous page, can't remember by who, where we keep our highest rankings on our profile and some sort of note saying whether they were achieved before or after the new ranking system.

Yepp not just me, palloslama got 990 plus and thats only been achieved once so he will feel hard done by if it gets changed.

I guess if you use the site it doesnt matter who is top of the table or who is winning becuase we all no ste_efc is the one who everybody wants to beat!

Also great ranks and great achivments will come again just don't no if it will ever be as high

I'm going to use an example to make my point:

Consider we removed a red from the original table leaving only 14; the maximum possible break would then be 139. Would it be fair to leave then max breaks as they were????... No, as the previous breaks would have been achieved under different circumstances and would be impossible to better...

For that reason, if the ranking system changes then the highest ranks must be reset...It bears no significance to me as I'll never feature in the top 50, but it would be unfair to new players and players who have yet to reach there full potential as they will not have any chance to reach the max ranking under a new system...

While i appreciate that the people currently topping the list might be slightly upset with the reset, that can't be helped... Maybe they should view it as a new challenge... The max rank system has only been in operation for 8 months and there are many people who's max rank does not feature for this reason, but they have to live with that, as should everybody else when their current max is reset...

That's why I think that while the table with the max ranks should be re-set, there should still be something on the people's profiles aknowledging ranks that they have achieved in the past.

In addition to the bit I said earlier, maybe for people who's highest rank was achieved before the update, there could be a little part on the profile saying their highest rank after the update as well.

I do just feel that while the primary maximum rank table needs to be re-set, people's hard work over the past months/years can't just be forgotten, and would be even better if it was the case that there was a set table with the top maximum ranks on from before the update.

But if the maximum ranks are going to be 're-set' something has to be added so that any maximum ranks achieved before the update are still shown for everyone.

Why not just have an additional table at the bottom of the 'Overviews' for each of the game types affected by these changes and call it something like 'All Time Highest Ranking Achieved'.

This would act something like a 'Hall of Fame' listing.

But that shouldn't be the only thing, there needs to be something to acknowledge everyone's top break and not just the people who hit the top. People who have had times when they've been playing really well and then went back down to their normal rank, they should still have something on their profile highlighting what they did.

I'm not opposed to some kind of 'archive' which would feature the rankings on the day they were reset, although it would be quite redundant. But if it keeps people happy the i'm all for it, would be quite easy to implement too i reckon...

I just elaborated on yours with an idea for a name plus it would not be a 'set table' - it would update if any one did manage to break into that all time top 10 under the new scoring system.

I've stayed out of this debate thus far because I really didn't know what to think, however after reading darr_carrs post for me it's been made clear.

With the new ranking system I think the maximum ranks should be reset. I was once 994 as many of you know but and I reset does this mean you have forgotten I was at 994? No, and neither do I think people will forget ste_efc's 996 if it was to be removed. Sean_paul also hit 996 and everyone still remembers that and that was before the maximum rank!

What difference does it make if your maximum rank isn't on the leader-boards anymore, does this mean you didn't achieve it?
