Just a quick sorry may not be enough for some people when you threw around accusations and comments like you did.

But anyway, as Damee & Iamtheworst have already tried, I will try as well, end that there. The thread is about the ranking system and not your argument, so leave it out and talk about the subject that the topic was created for.

As I see it there are two purposes of the ranking table:

1) To acknowledge the "top" ranked player
2) To give all other players a target if they wish to be the "top" player

I think the reset needs to happen because without it 2) will no longer be relevant.

I can see people being upset if they are near the top but if your still good enough you'll be back up there in no time. 990+ is just a recognition of a top top player but, after all, 960 might just be the new 990!

Before the rank is reset I'll save the top 50 and post it in the game shouts forum. You can write the top rank on your profile and point to my thread for proof.

I do think it has to change though. The ranking system was much too sensitive before.

Yes i agree entirely. But how long before the ranks can be re-set? Surely they wont completely equilibrate for the inactive members for a few months, and for under 800 players, they will never equilibrate surely?

I think this may be a good time to mention the "hall of fame" page suggestion from a while back.

I think having a page like that to permanently record stats at times of change like this would be good and ease the "pain" for those who have worked so hard to attain them, with a brief note of the timeframe that system was in place for?

I dont understand why the rank is being changed to be honest, I did see a thread on pool moaning about it, but nothing here, pool spin and pool ranking system - what next? a blue cloth and a spotted white?

Changing the rank system isn't too bad i think but deleting people's achievements is a bad one! All i get for it is a sticky post in game shouts..... i like spinners idea a lot, it would have to have it's own link underneath "forum" on the left hand side tho, called "hall of fame" and you click it and it's got a list of achievements. Something like that anyway.....

Exactly why i'm outraged mike. Funkysnooker? Can we call it that any more? Because someone moaned about "OUR" ranking system from pool, it got changed. Like i said in another thread, we may aswell call this site funkypool2 because thats the way its headed.

I myself have now quit arcade and original (never play killer or carom) because of this pool spin & pool ranking system. Everyone has said about "new members" joining more frequently, but ask yourself this... is'nt it just members from pool??? Anyways, the days of funkysnooker are long gone and funily enough "regular" is the only game type keeping the name snooker going for me.

I'm truly gutted about the changes and have got alot more to say on the matter but my opinions fall on deaf ears as usual.

And ste i just got to say your last post is outragous! the new point systems fine, but removing your highest rank's not? how can you say that? Is it because no one will ever reach it with the new ranking system? I think so.

I'd be more worried about the direction funkysnooker is going rather then an achievement many people have got and lost in the past. Is it fair that your top of max rank table and lyle is'nt? Ask yourself that and get back to me.

I left this site a year ago, but had a lot of fun over here. Good mates, good games, but i aint had challanges anymore so i went off to RuneScape.

But every now and then I came along and checked the rankings, discovering damee's 147 (congrats man), and other amazing achievements. And - tbh - I was always proud when i saw the belgian flag on the Max Rankings on spot nr 8. (tho I know I aint got the 8th highest ranking).
So when i heard about the max reset i was a bit sad, but, I must say, it wouldn't be fair to future FS-hero's, and I'd be quite happy with a mention on the game shouts.

In the past a deciding ball -impossible IRL- could be potted by an experienced player. It was a part of funkysnooker, a skill, an aspect that made us different from the Fpoolies.

Now Funkysnooker is just Funkypool on a green table.

A little question to Spinner: Isn't it possible to search the real highest rankings (the max ranks from those who got it be4 update and those who legitimately reached them but deleted after)?
Should be good to see them in stead of the list in which i take an overestimated 8th spot.

I played this game intensively for 7 months and it was great fun. The Admin team did a great job and i'd like to thank them for that. But now i'm off for some RuneScape-quests

ROFL Combat lvl 101, fletching cape and I cba to get the fire cape as i got my fletch cape . But get 70 ranged and Barrows-Kharils i think and within 3 hours you should have him if you are a bit lucky tho...

The spin isn't completly different, and only takes a couple of days to get used to. On medium power shots the spin is just about identical to what it was before, the slow shots have less spin, but this have solved the problem when the ball used to go off line once in a while because of the spin, and its a lot better with harder shots, the reaction you get off the white can get you into spots which you could never get before.



Perfect, yes they should be reset the max rankings but they have to have a place to be recorded. Nothing wrong with that what so ever.

Hang on, so is everyone's rank going to be re-set to 675? Or is it just going to be that maximum rank that people have reached that will be re-set?
