I didn't say everyone who plays arcade was rubbish, I said no top, top players play arcade anymore.

If that offends you then sorry, but when players like virtuoso107, ste_efc, youngjeezy, etc... move on, then the game they move on from suffers, its a fact.

I bet once you have mastered arcade, you move on and challenge yourself with either original or regular.

How does the game suffer? Surely, just because they aren't playing it anymore, it doesn't mean that other people aren't going to?

There are about 100 people signing up every day. If an even amount of those played each game type, then each game type would get 20 new players.

Therefore, the game isn't suffering.

can we stop this before this before it gets out of hand.

i agree with both views but the spin doesnt affect me at all in arcade but its original im stuck on atm.

so lets leave it at this before it gets capped.

By top players he meant players from the old days, mr_107 bell_boy, jay_afc, curtisorren etc it was in no way a dig so to speak at the current top players.

Thats almost like saying Ronnie O'Sullivan isn't a top player becase he isn't from the old days like Steve Davis (no offence to Steve but he is rubbish).

Why would it be capped it's a healthy debate, as for all of what's been said i'm with mike completely not just cause he used me as an example but he brings up the right points. Where is mr_107 bell_boy drunk_lad just to name a few nowadays? Exactly.

How on earth is saying that? Take your time to read through the thread and take a look at what I was explaining.

I never said you called Arcade players rubbish. But saying no top players paly arcade is being derogatory to those players that do.

And BTW just tell me what i'm left to acheive before I can feel like i've mastered Arcade?

lol... you misunderstand me, am sure the game wont hold a grudge... (damn you changed your original post

What am trying to say is when all the top players move on at once, like they did, even before regular, or the new spin, then I can quite rightly (in my view) say that the standard isn't as good. It's like taking Taylor and Barney out of the PDC.

Doesn't mean James Wade is rubbish.

Put it this way, when I see virtuoso107, ste_efc
sean_paul (forgot to mention him :S) have a game free, am 1st in, cos I want the challenge. When I look on arcade I don't get that. If I seen them names on arcade then maybe I would play it. strong views maybe, but they are mine.

I got to agree when i first came there were alot more better players on but they were also the guys that made the site start off the ones who realistically made it what it is, the guys who were here from day 1 are all leaving and suely we want them to stay due to the fact they are 'old school' and no site would be as good if it was just new members each day

Right! NO MORE DEBATE ON WHO IS/WAS/MIGHT BE BEST!

It's not only irrelevant to the thread, but totally subjective in general terms, and in factual terms its whoever is top of the appropriate tables.

There is a genuine topic to debate here, don't let it be lost.

Couldn't agree more, particularly the last bit in bold!

I think people need to stop whinging about the changes that have been made and get practicing.

Only a few months ago people were complaining about the game losing its appeal and no challenges remaining. Well Nick's implemented changes and those challenges are now out there.

I think its the nature of us British (yes I know not everyone's British on here ) to complain all the time!

Am glad your glad.

But my original point which has got lost along the way was this:

When all of my high ranking friends moved to orig, I stayed with arcade, because i couldn't stand orig. But for whatever reason - introduction of new spin, no more scroll bars, or just an introduction of a game they liked more, they went to regular. I tried regular and I loved it, so I stayed, and haven't wanted to go back. I hope once I have mastered regular to givee original a propper chance and the grand plan is to master the full game. Sorry if you find that contreversial...

Quite a lot of posts to look at since I've been gone.

Tinotoon, you have to understand that people have a right to voice their opinions, thats what the forums are all about. I understand we're the_kop is coming from and i also understand we're you're coming from.

On the subject the thread was made for... Tinotoon, you actually have made a very valid point but.. ill stick to my guns on this one, Arcade has been around for 3 years and I've been around for 2 and a half so to see such a change in such a small amount of time takes some getting used to. It was still a challenge for me (before the update) i had targets to achieve and didn't complain whatsoever. However their was a group of us who strongly put our views across for a new game because we wanted a new challenge and we got it, and i think it's been a big hit with a lot of members (Regular). No one complained about Arcade am i right? We just wanted a new game because pool had one and obviously Virtuoso107 came up with a fantastic design and we all loved it. Back to the point.. i like the sound of an in between spin (for the 3rd time).

But then that would be another change to get used to lol

I think that Nick likes the idea of the same spin across the board, plus to change the spin back to what it was before the update would need him to go back on his original view, that the more realistic the better, changing it would require a change of opinion.

Well i can't see him changing it back to the previous spin, so that was the best i could think of. My personal opinion is that the spin on the Arcade table is absolutely pathetic.

I'm all for people expressing their opinion. If you read my posts more carefully you'll see that what I do take exception with is the attitude that newer players cannot compare to the "old school" which is implied by some of the postings within this thread.

And my opinion is that these top players have been up there before so they should stop whingeing and practice, like they did when they first joined, if they want to be up there again.

I never mentioned anything to do with old players and new players. The old players are obviously going to be more established, they have played more games therefore inevitably have more achievements.

Anyway, stay on topic!!

Keep new spin, or revert back?
