Ste, there's been no changes to the underlying logic / physics. The changes are presentation changes only (improved rendering on the balls, more efficient animation code).

I have heard there's a problem with killer which I'll look into, and screenshots are always useful to me, so thanks for taking it, dgeneratio.

Has the angle when potting to the bottom left pocket (as in the bottom left of the screen) in arcade changed? I seem to be missing a lot of simple cuts on the black off it's spot. I have to aim slightly away from that pocket to make the pot.

The balls are rendered in higher details meaning that some people (depending on resolutions) will appear to see new angles. However it is most likely you needed to pot slightly "off" before, with the correction now. It's worth using one of the new cursors as they are rendered exactly the same size as all the balls.

Yeah I've been using the ghost cursor and admittedly, the angles seem more correct since the update. It's just that one niggling angle that seems off. Although it might be my brain that's incorrect!

I'm in a game of 10 man killer now and its died people taking shots i can hear my random time shot no balls moving or nuthing

Ok I can see everybody elses shot now, the game has froze when it comes to my shot but I can still shoot I can't type or anything whats going on?

The names at the top of 'Whos next' is not changing so when I hear the count down I just hit and hope, but now its doing nuthing everything is froze

Come on whats going on, when i'm in a game of killer and leave to enter members my game crashes and now when i'm in a game of killer and click enter tourny the game crashes

(Also this post might not make sense as I am typing it as it is happening during the game lol)

And again before the game started left to join a game of Carom and it crashed, can we get this sorted please, I no it might take a while just annoying

Its happened again its so annoying i cant see any of the shots i or my opponent play i justr see the end result

I no this seems like I am going on and on but its becoming a joke now, 10 man killer still on 3 lifes and i'm out because it crashed whats going on, this needs sorting, started to become more hard work than fun this game

Were just playing WSO on original and I'd just lost the game so pressed the white flag followed by 'Watch'. This completely locked the game up and it actually said in the chat panel that if I left the room I would forfeit the game (possibly indicating that I was a bit quick on hitting the watch button). It just stayed there saying 'Waiting' for me and 'Clicked' for Ryan (youngjeezy) with no timer being shown (the chat box was still active though). Anyway here is the screen shot in case it gives any clues:

I like the new lay-out but the game play is absolutely terrible. So terrible for me that i just have no interest in playing anymore. I was 850+ ranking & now struggle to beat under 600 ranking. I thought ok practice & get used to it but it just ain't happening. After about 20-30 games there is no difference & i'm missing the easiest of straight shots. I don't understand changing something that to me was perfect before. I used to play daily on here but i personally have had enough now so sorry to say this but i don't think i'll be coming back.

I'm sorry to hear that but the angle change has been caused by improved rendering in the balls - which eventually should be to the benefit of all.

However it is temporarily levelling the playing field and it does make thinks easier (or more intuitive) for new users and beginners.

I'm confident that this change has improved the game, even if it has disgruntled a few people.

I have to agree completely, it's really disappointing. It's the missing of the easiest straight shots that's getting me too. I could understand if some of the more difficult shots had changed angles slightly but to keep missing straight forward shots is really annoying. It also seems to be very difficult to fine cut any shot.

Yes the new layout looks great, but to sacrifice gameplay for it is not good at all, because no matter how flashy something looks, if it doesn't play so well then people aren't going to want to play it.

Bring the old version back!!

you just need to practice with the new cursor mate, it will come back eventually, it took me 3 or 4 days but im happy again

The ball rendering and the new layout are independent changes that just happened to have been released together.



That's insulting that I'd put flashy gimmicks above gameplay. I did have concerns this week that this version might have stability issues and I'd have to revert - if so one of the only parts that would have remained would be the improved rendering on the balls - there's simply no reason not to have it outside of legacy purposes.

In hindsight I should have added the rendering change separately, this thread is getting filled up with people discussing the angle change that simply isn't going to be reverted.

Basically get used to it, its the same for everyone else!

It isn't hard to get used to it ConLon. Practice just like you would of when you first started playing!

It did need fixing. It was fixed to look 21st century I think. I'm sure you agree it looks much better.

If you read the thread, you'd actually realise that it was broken! You know, that thing that Nick's said about 50 times now. You had to aim away from the ball to pot some shots, now you don't need to do that!

So before you choose to make such an inconstructive and offensive comment, have the courtesy to read what Nick, and other people have said!
