Yossi and Arteta for Nasri and Fabregas hmmmm realy not sure about this... Arsenal really needed a top Marquee signing. More than likely still finish in the toop 4 though
Think Stoke have done great business, Crouchie and Palacious 2 great signings, and Crouchie in Europe.
Spurs look a bit light up front, only 3 strikers and if one gets injured... they look like finishing 6th perhaps
Bellamy to Liverpool well, thats alright, he will be an impact player and maybe start against the lesser teams to give Suarez a rest. Liverpool do not have first refusal on Hazard though. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11669_7141863,00.html
And finally, once again, the Nottingham Forest board do not back their manager with finances... sorry Steve, now you know why Billy Davies was always talking about the Transfer Comittee, which, one of the members were on Radio5Live, thanks Mr Pleat, so was obvious Forest wouldnt sign anyone haha! Bring on the Mid Table finish
And finally FINALLY.... Everyone missed a trick by not signing Paddy McCourt!!!!

Can't count Adam?! lmfao. He came through the Rangers Youth system for goodness sake, just like Hutton.

Dont think you can count Adam either, he was never played at Rangers before Blackpool bought him for £500,000.

Yeah and sat on the bench for most of his time there because he wasn't wanted. He got sent out on loan to other teams who gave him the games he needed to get better. Also think you will find he came through the Dundee youth system.
Agreed!

On the subject of Meireles, gutted he's gone to be honest only good business Hodgson did in his time at Liverpool.
Derry he was on the bench because he was injured for a large part of the summer and therefore was not fully fit yet.
I think he was a great utility midfielder but I'm not even sure he will be in the Chelsea first 11 either.
12 million is a good fee for all he is 28/29 got a couple of years left in him as a top player before inevitably degrading and we got our money back for him that we paid last year.
Having said he was a good player last season he seemed to have an uncanny ability to completely disappear from games and often went 5 or 6 games at a time doing very little that was meaningful.
Liverpool will get by without him as we have plenty of CMs but if this was going to happen I wish we had kept Aquilani.
He probably wanted a chance at winning the Champions League which I will admit at Liverpool wouldn't have even had the chance of happening for him for a year or two and then he would be too old.
Only upset is the way he left, he 'did a Torres' so to speak and left it until the last minute to go, I am very shocked he did this as he saw the reaction that Torres got when he left like that. Anfield won't be fun for either of them this season.

On the Raul thing I don't think it was last minute anymore. Judging by our DoF comments he was well aware all day that he wanted out.
Raul was on about 30k a week at Liverpool and signed under the promise of a pay rise after his first season under Hicks and Gillette.
When the end of the season came he didn't get the pay rise cos John Henry told him that they weren't bound by a a verbal contract of the previous owners.
They obviously didn't want to raise his wage.
Raul said he would happily stay for life at Liverpool last season, but he got the hump about not getting his promised pay rise in the off season.
Wish we had kept Aquaman now, but meh. We have a good squad of players here at Liverpool. Probably the 4th best in the league.

Charles Graham "Charlie" Adam (born 10 December 1985) is a Scottish international footballer who plays for Liverpool. He plays primarily as a central midfielder.
Before having a youth career at Rangers, Adam was part of the Dundee youth set up between 1999-2003. A product of the
Rangers youth system, Adam spent much of his early senior career on loan to other clubs.
Yes he was at Dundee, but it was at Rangers where progressed from a youth player to senior squad player.

The rumour is he is about to quit. You will have dodged a bullet there, useless manager as I said when it was announced.

We have different opinions on this Michael. To be honest I dont see how you can say he is useless when he has Won Trophys in 2 countries. Yor judging him on what, a failed England tenure and a 4 month or whatever it was German job. Forgetting his success at the Boro winning their first Trophy, highest League Position, and Twentes first ever League title. Dont understand where your coming from but whatevs...
Wouldnt blame him for leaving as he was promised things buy the board and they didnt deliver. And after the 1-4 against the Hammers (sounds worse than it was as Forest were all over them and was mind boggelling how it was 0-3 at half time) Steve told the press they need signings, the boards ambition will be shown if they make signings or not. They didnt. Hes been let down. Seeee what happens....

Fairy nuff.
Still think he's poor, and you'd be better off with someone like Alan Curbishley or someone like that though... but it's your club, you no more than me about how your clubs ran than I do.
What is this 'transfer panel'? Do the panel choose the players? Or does the manager choose the player, then the panel review whether or not to go ahead with it?
Either way it sounds

Pennant
Shawcross
Huth
Etherington

Begovic
Just to name a few all of them above alot of teams would love to have in their first 11!

Was browsing a Stokie forum earlier on Si, and your fans seem to think you have a better starting XI than Liverpool.
Haaaaaaaaa!
Having said that not looking forward to next weekends game. Not enjoyable playing Stoke, you can never really settle and the game becomes broken up into free kicks, throw ins and corners. Especially at The Brit.

See I think we will give you a real good game
Not to sure about the better 11 than Liverpool though lol
But definatly at the brit we can play anybody espicially with that draw to Chelsea
So far a unbeaten season, 4 Europe Cup wins, 1 league draw 1 win not to shabby for the once little team
