Stevie is wearing thee jumper/cardigan thingy.

Tom, Stop being so bitter .

Just want to say, footballers should not be seen as role models for children, role models should be lawyers, docotors and your parents, if 20 year old working class scallies who have an IQ of about 30 are your role models, you need to rethink.

Everytime I go into town, there is always a punch thrown, always a bust up and always an arrest. thats just the way it is

Having said that, i'm thinking a not guilty is on the cards here.

I don't get how that's being bitter? It's not that I feel Barton was hard done by, I dislike him as much as the next person, it's that I think Gerrard will be softly done by, which is true.

What I'm picking up on though isn't the 'punishment' that he'll get, but the fact that when it was Joey Barton, even Keegan was getting the jip from the media because he didn't sack him, yet what do they say when it's Gerrard?

who went to beat the DJ up? Oh yeah, little mr media favourite Gerrard.

Not only is that incorrect, its bitter.

He went to ask for control of the music, he then got involved in an argument with Mcgee. He then sat down. His mate went up to Mcgee and hit him before Gerrard joined in.

Read this - evidence from Mcgee:

"In my statement I didn't recall the conversation but looking at my hand movements I was asking him how he would react if somebody came up to him and wanted to take something off him in a manner I found to be rude," he said.

"I gave my statement in the 100% firm belief it was Steven Gerrard who hit me first.

"I gave that statement in good faith but changed it after watching the CCTV."

See, you should read things properly before you criticise.

As I said Tom all the media can do is report the story, they cannot write a sensationalist peice on what a let down he is and how he should be banned from all football just yet, because incase you hadn't noticed, there is a trial going on . Wait till a verdict is reached - tomorrow.

Duno if I've mentioned this BTW but his mates pleaded guilty and got a small fine. Barton on the other hand is different gravy. You can't compare a nutcase to a petty criminal, even if Gerrard is charged.

I know why your bitter anyways, he was celebrating a 5-1 victory over a certain Newcastle United.

How on earth is it bitter?

Gerrard doesn't get anywhere near the treatment he deserves, he goes on about hating divers but the media don't pick up on the fact that he's a cheat just like them.

He puts in very reckless challenges (More in the past, I know), but from what I recall, there was never anything big going round about how disgraceful Gerrard was.

And now due to him thinking that because he's a 'superstar' he should be given what he wants when he wants it, him and his mates have beaten a DJ up.

And when Gerrard went to join in, does that not mean that he went to beat the DJ up? Or does going to join in with a fight mean something different these days? Or is it just alright in Gerrard's case for Liverpool fans and the media?

To me the most cringe worthy moment was when he said something like "do you know who I am?"

Thats worse than hitting somebody, still, as I said, if hes seen as a role model for children, then more fool them, and being an arrogant muppet isn't an arrestable offence.

As for his diving, thats old news every footballer dives, even those at Newcastle Utd... :O :O :O. Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen, Jamie Carragher (probs worst for it - as are all defenders) Steven Taylor etc etc etc etc all divers.

His tackling is one of his best attributes so am not even going to bother going there. He was about 20 when he put all that behind him.

Finally, I think the media have given Liverpool enough bad press to last a few lifetimes, a bit of respite for our captain is little consolation.

I didn't say that most players don't dive, not every footballer dives though. And I also didn't say that no Newcastle player dived, I just pointed out the fact that he goes to the media saying how he hates divers, yet all of a sudden there's a video of him doing plenty of dives.

Also, if we're going by your last point, we'd have been done for the next couple of decades for bad press, but it just doesn't happen does it? Not when you're a club like Newcastle, every minor thing that happens at the club is made into a mountain.

To me, there are 3 types of divers.

1) Goes down when he feels contact

2) Goes down when there is no contact

3) Goes down rolling around hands on the shin trying to get the opponent sent off.

Gerrard is usually in the 1st catogory but sometimes the 2nd.

Can't recall a newspaper ever going as bad on Newcastle as Liverpool though.

Cmon, place your bets on Gerrard

Guilty and prison
Guilty and suspended sentence
Guily and Fine
Not guilty

TBH, it is a pretty farfetched story hes came out with about self defense thinking he was gonna be hit. I'd just take the ifne personally if he is found guilty though, his pocket will take a real hammering with a lot of his sponsors pulling out.

It must be hard for him...

He will get a petty fine that won't even damage his pocket, Honestly give him 2 month in jail let him back out on the 20th august

Think that would be a perfect date to be released imo lol

A petty fine will give him a criminal record. Thats his sky career over before its even began. He'll have to stay a player till hes 38 to cover the damage. Shame

We owe Stoke

1 Incident?

This is about the 3rd time, remember when he smashed a glass over a mans head and like this time he was found not guilty its wrong if you ask me. When there is CCTV footage showing the incident something should be done. This may sound like i am being really biased but i would say the same if it was an Everton player and there was CCTV to prove it.

I would!

Infact i was saying it when Tim Cahill apparently punched someone in a night club in Australia last month, but there was no footage or evidence against him then the 'Victim' dropped the charges!
