Your game definitely stands mich. The midnight deadline is never a set deadline. If we know people are playing that night, the games count.

Will keep this open until tonight, but as it stands, the deadline would be extended to Sunday.

Right, this comes up roughly once every season..... :

We have neither of the cup semifinals decided at the end of the deadline (1 week). It's never nice to see cup fixtures decided by defaults. We have the option of extending the deadline into the transfer window, where there would usually not be any games.

Captains and vice-captains, please post here to say whether you are in favor or against an extension of the deadline.

For now, please continue to arrange and play the games past the deadline. If it is extended, the results will count, otherwise, they won't.

I would be happy for the deadline to be extended this time. Especially as the last game against D&C is going to decide the outcome of the match. Imagine doing the default for that...

Surely it's better for a match to be decided on the baize!

I know I'm not a cap or vice, but I used to be captain of two teams, so ill post :L not that it counts for much its just an opinion.

I definitely think the games should be extended, a semi-final decided on a default would be criminal, same as the league was decided on defaults, its wrong.

Every effort should be made not to let any cup games be decided by defaults. You have to consider the role of the default team, and the fact that in a very close default situation it would be very hard to be completely neutral. Not just for the clans concerned, but for other clans where their decision could decide who their clan gets in the final.

If there was a completely fair way to do defaults maybe there would be an argument for it. But there isn't one as its done by humans. Especially at the moment as the activity logs are down so most of the defaults are complete guesswork anyway.

Oh and defaults team should get a vote too .

Agreed, until someone finds a formula that can work taking into account logged in/browsing time and messages sent, not to mention subs and the time they occured that could give a default score (But is that too far? lol, and good luck to whoever tries to think of one So many variables)

When the logs are working, we take all of those factors into consideration, but there will never be a set formula that can be applied mathematically.
We also write down all the sub times and ask for messages.
Currently, the log-in times are not being tracked, unfortunately.

I'm pretty sure given enough time I could work out a mathematical formula, but sadly I have a life .

No doubt its not a pretty way to win/lose a game and I agree, it shouldnt be decided on default.

It shouldnt have to go to the wire.

The cup ties had roughly 10 games for each semi final, Ant hasn't been on much but through communication we got it done straight away.

If Mich can manage to leave a pub to come back log into an online snooker game, then it really makes the players who haven't played their games look incredibly bad.

I know there can be times when people havent been online - Sub them. Dont wait until the last day. But when I look at the unplayed fixtures, I see these people on daily, so they don't have an excuse.

This will in all likelihood not happen again for the rest of the season, but I think the circumstances allow it:

The deadline for the Cup Semifinals is extended to Sunday, September 4th.

If the fixtures aren't decided by then, they will go to defaults.

GET THE GAMES PLAYED!

Default Team:
The defaults are up (only 2 fixtures this time).
Also, there is 1 individuals game in there (ccfc1927 vs junster333). Please write who you think should go through for that one (no score needed)

Right instead of just random people making clans then they disband after 2 week, I think any clan created by a member in the hope of joining the league from now on should have experience playing in the clan league its self.

it is a good idea to stop them entering the league but it doesn't stop them making a clan for friendly games.

i agree with you though.

Eh, not sure it's necessary here. The new clans that fold soon after don't mess with the clan league.
Every now and then, one of the clans that no one expects to last does last. Attacking Super Stars and Chaos Crew jump out.

If people want this, we can add the rule for next season, but I think preseason friendlies take care of the problem.

also got another idea, similar to one i said on pool.

at the moment you could be the best clan and lose on bonus points, so could make it 10 for win, 5 for draw, 10 for no defaults?

I definitely disagree with that and don't like it on pool either.
It's about getting the most points in a season.
Also, some fixtures are decided by defaults- shouldn't really get bonus points for winning a fixture through defaults.

theres 1 thing i dont understand, pool clans has this rule but got more clans, we dont have it and got less clans.

snooker has double members than pool most of the time.

i just seen 15 clans for next season in FBL which is a record i think think highest we have had is 8 or 9.
