Good point.
Well I still think it should just stick at 2 week like every other round, however just simply extending the cup final deadline to 3 week wouldn't bother me either. Don't fiddle with the league game lengths though, they should stick at 2 week throughout the season.Yes, the last league fixture will be two weeks just like the rest. I think we'll leave the cup at 3 weeks- that doesn't give anyone disadvantages.

If we say 2 weeks but extension possible, then what's the point of two weeks in the first place?

No, but equally we shouldn't punish members for playing every game if they are asked to, which we currently do.
16:53 Wed 8 Feb 12 (GMT) [Link] Yeah, we'll say what the minimum number of possible frames is and then make the number about 60% of that. This season, that would've meant 22-23 games played to get into the Golden Cue list.
damee said:
I think the golden cue just simply needs a higher minimum and 18 really was too low.
League format should stay exactly how it is, worked great last season and wasn't any problems if you ask me.

16:57 Wed 8 Feb 12 (GMT) [Link] We haven't punished anyone- we're simply taking the stats as they come. And remember, it's still a higher minimum than on pool!
I just don't think creating a system, where you are essentially saying "+5 to those who played more" is the way to go.

Is everyone happy with the completion bonus amount?
17:32 Wed 8 Feb 12 (GMT) [Link]
Actually, I was thinking about this to be honest.
I think a slightly different approach should be done with this.
5 bonus points for fixture completion
5 for fixture win.

*vomit* I hate win bonuses.
But if people want that, I won't get in the way.
Only thing I thought of just now is that captains might be less inclined to sub at the end of a fixture to get games played, since it could cost them the win bonus.

Well, how about simply only add a win bonus if the fixture has been completed, therefore it still relies on all games being played.

i just thought of something about the friendlies, i know this isn't pool but when potty ran FCL they let a clan friendly go on if clans wished it long as it was played with clan league rules and guidelines then they could use that to prove reliability for the league.
not sure what seb thinks but thought id post about it anyway

stupid idea, its nothing to do with clan league or clan league runners IMO

No, I think the standard set of two games each is a good way of determining it. The conditions are fair for everyone and you can't pick and choose your opponents.

I agree, it works very well as it is.
I have seen on pool that there isn't a set amount of completed games to be played. I'm sure we did last season and I think this season we shouldn't have a set amount so everyone goes for them all and then you lot decide on who to let in.
I love clan league discussions over here, as it's all constructive and no arguments!

Last season, there was no hard passing line.
We said that if 14/18 games are completed, a clan is most likely to make it into the league, but that defaults would be taken into account either way.
It's on page 8/9 of the Clan League News thread, if you want to have a look.
In the end, due to clans that folded midway through the friendlies, we had only 3 clans that played 16/18 or more, although others would've achieved the same thing if it weren't for their opponents.
That's why it doesn't make sense to have a hard cutoff. It will all have to be looked at by the defaults team at the end anyway.

That's perfectly fine from my point of view. Just wanted it to be clarified that's all.

13:02 Fri 10 Feb 12 (GMT) [Link] Why u say that? I have never picked n chose when setting up clan friendlies and i hope other captains don't either...that's cheap!

By opponents I meant the clan you play.
The point is that the conditions should be the same for everyone if we're going to compare them.

noticed on the website the cheating line should be taken out of code of conduct or you can change it too please play the game spiritually by this i mean no potting the white on purpose (unless your on the final black and you or your opponent cannot win) etc.

The word "cheating" does not appear in the code of conduct in relation to gameplay.
The only time "cheating" appears is:

4.4 Completed games by banned users
After a game is completed, if league runners have a good indication that a player has been banned for playing duplicate accounts, the opposing captain has the option of letting the score stand or resetting to 0-0. If the score is reset, the clan has the option of entering a substitute for the banned player. In case that game subsequently heads to defaults, the time up to the substitution will be considered inactivity by the clan in question.

6.5 Substitutions in Partially Played Games
Once a game is started between two players, no substitution may be made. An exception is allowed when a player is banned, removed from a clan, or leaves a clan. In this case, the game may be abandoned and restarted at 0-0 with a sub for the player in question. Both captains must agree to this.
