If the up and down rule was implented; Then wouldn't carom start to lose what little players it already has? I for one wouldn't leave because i adore the game..

people would leave because of this lag, whats point playing someone who is going to use this lag all the time, even i refuse to use it because its no fun anymore.

up and down is better, at least you would have a chance of winning a lag.

Yes, this is a common reply, but only to area's where there is no way of including the rule, or the rule has been deliberately ommited, to fit in with the "funky" game engine. (like calling deliberate fouls, etc)

Nice to see some sensible replies. As already stated, this isn't the first time something like this has cropped up, so it will be changed in time if there is continuing demand (note - that doesn't mean continuing demand from one or two users, but from a noteable majority of regulars).

No doubt this should become an illegal shot on here. Just been merely stating that it's not cheating at the current time.

Also to add a note, the "funky" in funkysnooker actually has nothing to do with the gameplay its self, it's to do with the fact that the game can be played on old machines without too much difficulty (nick has said this in the past but can not find the thread)

You can use backspin while on a cushion though, if you raise the butt of the cue high enough, so yeah you are wrong.

The "Jibber jabber" is what has enabled the game to progress to the stage it's at, and indeed for funkysnooker, enabled it to exist. The threads on poolgame asking for a snooker game weren't that long ago in real terms

From personal experience, however, I expect this will be removed in time, however remember the Golden Break shot I mentioned from pool meant a definite win for whoever performed it, yet it took a good 6 months or more to be fixed, with dozens of threads and hundreds of people complaining.

So far less that 10 people have said they want this changed, so be realistic.

Just remember that for now it is a perfectly legal shot.

Agreed just deal with it for know, maybe its kind of hard to implement the proper lag shot. i dont know.
