Germany solid in defense and basically ONLY counter attack which frustrated me that Argentina were so attacking. Why would they do that when their defense is pathetic.

Anyway, If Spain go all out attack then they will lose. Also Ramos and Capdivila like to attack via the flanks so there will be acres of space in the Spanish defense.

After the last 16 games I had a £4 bet on Germany to beat Brazil in the final and got 350/1 lol. Think Brazil have let me down

Though Spain are a good team and they have had the lucky breaks so far and if there is a team that can cut up a defense then Spain are that team.

I don't think Spain will win... one of the only reasons they are where they are in the competition is because of Villa's goals.... Torres has been poor

Maybe Torres is being exposed to the fraud he is? Maybe Torres cant play against world cup defenders? Maybe he doesnt like the fact he isnt looked at as the best player/striker in the team. Maybe he is jealous of Villa and trying to hard to impress or has given up hope.

Or maybe he was forced to cut his hair and feels naked? But either way, he shouldnt be playing this poorly, just like Rooney, Messi, Kaka, Ribery...France, Italy, England lol.

I would be willing to put money on him not starting their next game, he is clearly not fit to anyone who sees him week in week out closely.

Its all in his movement, not his finishing. When he comes back from injury he still scores more often than not, however his movement becomes poor, giving the impression he is being lazy and disinterested.

We will see, but I cannot see anyway Bosque will play him in the semi.

Derry, what do you think world cup defenders are? These are not magic/mysterious defenders? These are defenders he would beat during any given time in any given season, if fully fit. You forget he scored their winner 2 years ago, against a better defence than he has faced so far.

As for this jealousy thing, I don't think that is it. People like to do this. Make football into something its not. Football is a pretty simple game. When your on the pitch you think only about the game. He is not thinking, oh I wish i was Villa. Oh I'm dead annoyed am not the best striker on this team. They are thinking about the ball, where to be, when to be, how to be, why to be in the position on the pitch they are in relation to that ball and the rest of play.

If I had a pound for every time people come out with pish such as 'team spirit' after a team has won, I would be minted.

It is easy for somebody to say he is in a good/bad frame of mind when hes on/off form

The other major factor is that Torres likes the ball, he wants it given to him early, this is not how Spain play. For Liverpool he has thrived by being our stand out player, becuase players like Kuyt/Gerrard/Maxi are blatently being told to involve him in play as much as possible.

Spain like to pass, pass, pass amongst the defense and midfield before feeding the striker from the wings or thread balls in behind. It means Torres is left for most of the game without the ball. Villa sees it more becuase he is playing wide left, not through the middle and likes to shoot from distance.

If you look over Torres' goals for Liverpool most have come from picking the ball from deepish and beating his man then slotting in from just inside the box.

Spain do not play to his strengths, which is highlighted by his scoring record, and even more so now he is coming back from injury.

IMO

Oh and Spain will win this game, they do not tend to over commit in the way Argentina/England did.

Anyway, I hope Spain make the final (sorry destiny) as I would love to see Spain vs Holland/Uruguay just for a change. The final nearly always involves Germany/Italy/France/Brazil etc.

If Germany do make the final then hopefully it's against Holland as the rivalry will be great.

However, I am not paticularly bothered if he plays/plays well for Spain, but you have to admit that this is not Torres fully fit. If you like him/dislike him, it is plain to see his movement is not what it usually is.

Its all in his body language, which means he doesn't care or he isn't fit.
