I can't speak on behalf of the 'Old Generation' but hes definatly got my vote for 1 of them best ever also the Barca team is the best I have ever seen it's better than the 70/80's Liverpool team and that was amazing at the time it's unreal.

Give it 2/3 years I think Man City will be challenging them but nobody will ever be able play football like them it's a beautiful game to watch!

Bob Paisley is the only man to win 3 European Cups as a manager. Took him 5 years.

In 9 years as Liverpool manager he won:

1 UEFA Cup (which was only for second placed in the league back then)

A European Super Cup
4 Charity Shields.

Add to that 6 Manager of the Year awards then that is a serious manager.

9 years, 14 major trophies, 19 in all.

If Paisley had 25 years at Liverpool he would have won about 8 Champions Leagues and another 15 championships.

Paisley also had the advantage of being one of the most humblest men on earth, whereas Fergie is a sour faced alcaholic.

Fergie was lucky his reign with United came at the same time as Graeme Souness' apointment at Liverpool.

This Barca side V Paisleys Liverpool would have been a great game to watch.

How did Paisley, Shankley never got a knighthood? Always seen that as a disgrace. How liverpool dominated the 70's and 80's with a British team was remarkable.

Barca are different class to any team in history there work rate, and style of football is sick.

Oh the Old European cup, that one where one defeat and you were out! And actually had to be champions of your division to qualify.

The current 'Champions' League format favours the best teams.

They get put in pots, are seeded and sheltered up until the quarter finals.

The old European Cup was cuthroat. Lose the tie, you lose. No group format, no second chance. No seedings, no favourites.

And neither me or yourself are qualified to say 70s/80s football was inferior to what we see today.

What I do see today though is a lack of loyalty from players to clubs, and money ruining the game.

Obviously Pep hasn't spent as much as Fergie has in 25 years. Also Guardiola hasn't been around long enough at Barca to have had to rebuild a team, he inherited 95-100% of his team from Rijkaard. Nobody in the business can rebuild like Fergie can, fact!

Yes maybe George Best did underachieve a bit, but he was still one of the most gifted footballers of all time, and certainly more gifted than your "king kenny", so if he would be worth 150m, Georgie would be worth 200m.
