this is not a complaint but more of an enquiry, nick if you read this and im sure allot of family players will agree. Allot of the time during the day (more daytime than night) there is no mods or admins online and in place of that there is allot of people flaming and breaking the rules, i do submit complaints but by the time a mod or admin comes on they have logged and nothing seems to happen to them.

The only people on this site who are actually good at moderating anyway are Baff, Blutch and Junster333. The rest in my opinion, (no offence), don't do there jobs very well.

I think the admins need a lesson on picking good moderators.

Without naming and shaming, the majority of moderators are hardly online, hardly contribute around the forum, hardly play games, and are quite unprofessional.

Being a moderator shouldn't just be about booting people that break the rules.. They should also be active and have a strong presence around the site. They should have good general knowledge so that they can help with various issues that members may be having.

I've just looked at the list of moderators and there are some who I've hardly ever even seen before.

I've also asked a few about their moderator applications, and the impression I got was that they just wrote a few sentences about why they want to moderate... Nobody can know if somebody is going to be good at moderating when all they've seen is a couple of sentences from them in an application..

There needs to be stricter guidelines for people to become moderators.

This should most likely be done through Contact Us..

But the moderator's job is tough, they can't be everywhere at once, and I'm sure they have lives outside of this game, so they won't always be on.
Having said this, perhaps increasing the amount of active moderators would be helpful to the site.

The problem isn't the amount of moderators. There are plenty for a website of this size. The problem is that none of them are dedicated enough, (with a few exceptions).

mrmagic, budweiser, fastboysam are online quite frequently

I've applied twice and both times my application was denied.
Which without boasting, proves that the admins aren't good at choosing. I guarantee I've had more moderating experience than over half of FS's current moderators, on websites just as big as this.

I agree with jack_pot although i would add firesky to his list of good mods and remove one or two..
There was an ex mod in the the "bar" the other night and he questioned the mods in there if they actually had a clue what they are doing.
A lot of mods just play in the fun and games all day and always tell you to ask contact us or ask on the forum because they don't understand technology.

Maybe so, but it's frustrating knowing that you can do a better job than the majority of current moderators, yet you're denied the chance, especially on a site that you really enjoy. The whole point of filling out an application is to boast about your strong points, and moderating is something I'm very good at.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they just picked applications out of a hat.

i have applied 3 times over 4 years and been denied all 3, but this isnt the reason i made this thread, the only players ever on are budweiser, fastboysam, firesky, baff and mrmagic, altogether there is around 20 mods and admins and the only people i reguarly see are these 5 and very rare you see 2 on at once and that shows how bad it is, nick needs to revamp his moderating team

new members may not believe this or understand, but us old timers are getting quite sick of it as i was once a kid on this myself so i know kids play the game now

I haven't applied but have been contacted to become moderator and will start next week.

baff and budwiser are the only good mods i think

tombo1 and ang_k should be mods

The admins do all the contact us work, Which you always get a reply within a few hours. The admins do all the "important" stuff that is why there is mods to look after the in game side of it. So don't really think it means much an admin been logged into the game server.

*The likes of sted, youngjeezy are never on,* Like someone said mods do have a lives but no point really been a mod if you are never on nor dedicated.
