i suck though, i can max and that yeah, but it took me ages to get to grips with the game, i only started winning tournaments in 2010 LOL, and i didn't really get much notice until i started getting into clans, i know i can beat a lot of players on my day, but ive had my good times, only things i would want to aim for now would be to get to 1st in rankings again, and get to 200 tournaments currently on 150..
but i could of been a lot better than i was, but i just used to moan constantly and i had a poor tempermant, and my game is only coming now because ive calmed it down a bit, but i still got a lot to learn, cant blame anyone but myself really

Not taking anything away from you mate, you are a good player, but those on their day are unbeatable..

I couldn't agree more with that, i think our "breed" has simply just decided life is waaaaaay more important than an online snooker game and thats why most people from our time aren't around anymore, i know thats why i took my break, same with cue and yourself lee and james. Miss the days of a 6 or 7 UT wso arcade night Unbelievable skill in those games!

Funny enough, just playing an old Goodfella and Untouchable and said to him at the start of the frame, this is how arcade used to be played... Broke and cleared for a 103

That leaves 2400 frames that he won without hitting a 50! When people win frames without hitting a meaningful break, it is usually due to missing shots (take away a few hundred from people who quit and you still have an immense number).
Nobody is unbeatable, regardless of the form they're in (especially in arcade). We are just better at remembering the great breaks that players hit. We tend to push the terrible misses and other scrappy frames out of our mind- they don't stand out much.

There are certain flaws when compairing statistics.
For example, the 5+ and 10+ in carom. I had played 1000 games before that had even been introduced. So I had 1000 games played and no runs of 5+...
Also I use to play tournaments in arcade, when people leave it automatically ended the game until Derry, yes me! Came up with the master plan of disabiling the automatic win. So many games of mine are default wins.
Not to mention that now if a player doesnt turn up, you automatically get a win. Which after a while add up to a significent amount of wins without breaks/runs.
I do very much dislike that about this site is that it has ruined peoples stats, espeically mine. When lets face it, stats are the most prided possession of a snooker/sportsmen.

I only said on their day tho, to be fair your pretty unbeatable yourself on your day, or any other day for that matter. It just happens that most days for those players seem to be their day, dont get me wrong i didn't mean it as in they are completely unstoppable, i was only with UT a couple of weeks and in my first in clan tourny i beat james 4-0 in the final so not unstoppable, but they do stand above the rest when it comes down to it.

Just to the point out as well. Why do people associate "old school" and "the new breed" with time? When it's exactly to do with playing style, now how long you have been around.

Old school playing style is a hell of a lot different to the way it's played today. Much more risky shots played back in the day. More times than not, they failed

i always thought it was to do with time. im a risk type player (if you seen me smash break in orig you will know this) but i can do safety play as well
