Urm, what about this then?
"We received expert evidence as to the use of the word negro in Uruguayand other areas of Latin America. It is often used as a noun to address people, whether family, friends or passers-by, and is widely seen as inoffensive. It is inoffensive when its use implies a sense of rapport or the attempt to create such rapport. However, if it were used, for example, with a sneer, then it might carry negative connotations. The Spanish language experts told us that if Mr Suarez said the things Mr Evra alleged, they would be considered racially offensive in Uruguay and other regions of Latin America."
So now rather than being one player against another, it's one linguistic expert against another??
This is boring, I wish you Liverpool fans would just admit that Suarez was in the wrong... The whole world can see that bar Liverpool...

^ Do they? If you read the report, linguistic experts clearly say that if used as Luis claimed, it would not have been racist.
The experts concluded their observations on Mr Suarez's account as follows. If Mr Suarez used the word "negro" as described by Mr Suarez, this would not be interpreted as either offensive or offensive in racial terms in Uruguay and Spanish-speaking America more generally.
Anyway, I've read that joke 5 times now, and as I told the first fella who posted it on Facebook... we've brought back Bellamy.

The whole world has been reading the mirror and trusting the FA's rulings when they have United fans on their board, hence why Kompany's red card wasn't rescinded.

I've read tons and tons of articles both online and in various papers. Also, I can't stand Man Utd, and Liverpool are my 2nd favourite English team, yet for me, it's so clear to see that Suarez was in the wrong... I don't think he's racist, but I think what he said to Evra was racist.
This whole situation has been blown out of proportion by LFC... It could, and should have been over and done with, within a few weeks of the incident, but it's been dragged on so long and to absolutely no avail.

I see a lot of similarites with the Kompany red card and the Suarez ordeal.
It never hurt the opponent but its against the rules, regardless to wherever you are etc.
I dont think Kompany should of been sent off, but he had to be sent off.
I dont think the comments Suarez made are ofensive but he has to be punished.
I dont want to pay tax, but I have to.
Rules are rules and thats that really.
End of the day, Suarez admitted it, we all know he wasnt trying to be pally pally with Evra, I do think Liverpool are completely stupid for sort of brainwashing their fans into this higher power crap.
Your player called another player a word that isnt allowed in football, anywhere around the world.
Seriously, it was nice defending Suarez and standing by him.... but the only reason Liverpool fans are saying "We stand by Suarez" is because you even know yourselves he is guilty? Or why wouldnt you stand by him?
I dont need to say "I stand by Drogba" because everyone knows he is innocent.
But I'm getting a bit tired of all this Liverpool garbage now. He got an 8 match ban. You wait until Terry gets stripped of captaincy, arrested banned for 10 years and put in prision for 6!
Then Liverpool will still feel an 8 match ban was unfair.

Also pointing out.....
Kompany got a 4 match bann for tackling the ball...
Suarez got 8 for using racist terminology and admitting it?
Seriously... quit complaining!

Nice vid Si.
I believe the opening part was shown in more detail before a World Cup (98?) as part of Italy's preparation.
Nevertheless, it's a clever montage, but I'm sure that you could apply the same to lots of teams nowadays (unfortunately).
It's a pity, but until the powers that be decide to use the technology available to punish the real culprit, rather than the supposed victim, this will remain a part of the game, whether we like it or not, as winning seems to be everything.
Nearly half way through, there is a sliding tackle by Ronaldo on Puyol (2 footed, btw, and reminiscent of a similar challenge in the FA Cup no so long ago lol). Hands up everyone who remembers Mr Simulation at Man Yoo...? lol

3 different commentaries made available by BBC for the Man City v Liverpool match tonight. The main one on BBC 1, then 1 in Manc and another in Scouse. Talk about wasting money!

To be fair the BBC aren't spening their sports budget on anything else...

I'll be waiting for Glen Johnsons 3 match ban after his tackle, which was at least 10 times worse than Kompanys' tackle.
But I will no doubt be waiting forever for it...
Thats why the whole system is a joke.
As by Glen Johnson not getting nothing for it shows that they aren't preventing the tackles at all.
What a joke.

Lee Mason was bang on tonight. Glen wins the ball debate ends there, and I don't care what the rules say.
We've already had our punishment with Jay Spearing against Fulham, in an exact same tackle as Kompany.
As for the game...... it was good for us for 20, we got our goal and Kenny switches us to ultra defensive Fifa12 style.
1-0 job done, hammer them at Anfield and on to the final we go.
City fans were so poor tonight, didn't even sell out the arrogant turds.
"We're not racist, we only hate hate mancs" Hahahahaha

Why are you copying and pasting the linguistic experts take on the use of the word negro?
I've already posted what the experts said on the exact use of the word Suarez claims to have used.
Not interested in how the word can be used negatively, because that isn't the point.
The point was that the experts concluded that if Suarez was to be believed, then he used the term in an acceptable manner.
In fact the only thing that came out of the whole thing was that we now know Evra is a horrible lying gimp. He told the match referee that he doesn't like to use the N word, the exact word he has been found to have used on youtube.

The problem is Suarez can't be believed either. He claimed to have pinched Evra when he said it, then video footage showed he hadn't and he had to admit that he had lied to the court. Doesn't make him the most credible source.

How can you possibly believe Suarez though? The incident took place for hundreds of thousands of people to see... It was clear that he used it whilst having an argument, so chances are, he was using it as an insult.
It's more likely that he was being racist than if he wasn't.
Do you not think it's strange that ONLY Liverpool supporters actually believe that Suarez isn't guilty of anything? It's not a case of everyone picking on Liverpool, it's actually nothing to do with Liverpool as a club at all, it's Suarez as an individual, so that for me rules club vs club bias out.
