The owners are starting to get a bad name for themselves amongst supporters. Liverpool has never been a club who sacked managers after a bad league season.
I understand that many Liverpool fans won't be happy that their hero got sacked- understandably.

I'm guessing John Henry didn't want Dalglish in the first place. He pretty much had to sign him on after Liverpool had an excellent run to end the season last year. Otherwise, he would've been gone then already.
Henry wanted to come in and start fresh, with a young manager that will be there in the long-term.

John Henry is the owner of the biggest rival of my baseball team. I will happily admit that he's been an absolute blessing of an owner for them though. He puts a lot of funds into his sports teams, doesn't fire managers that he picks (assuming they do reasonably well), and genuinely cares.

Didn't he say at the beginning of the season that Champions League football was the minimum target? This was not achieved. The Champions League is where the prestige and the money is, not the Carling Cup. Whoever the next manager is will be there for the long haul.

He didn't have to give the job to Kenny it would have been easy to thank him for doing a good job and then get in anothr manager and move Kenny back to being an ambassador and helping out in the youh set up.

True, but considering how well Liverpool played towards the end of last season, the fans would've gone rioting lol.
After an 8th place finish, it's much easier for him to kick Dalglish out, without everyone ripping him apart.

Just hope that we get in a manager who has a proven record of winning things. If we need a high profile manager to help attract new players then that's what we should get. Martinez wouldn't attract many big names and he hasn't won anything. I don't really want Capello as he will be retiring in a year or two.

Rafa back please.

Martinez won the league 1 title with Swansea?

Other than that, he's only managed Wigan- keeping them up is a win in itself lol.

I could see Martinez being the next Hodgson if he took over at Liverpool.
I am glad to see KD gone. Never liked him. I wouldn't like to see Martinez at Liverpool, I dont think he would succeed. I think he would be out of his depth.

I dont know how people can say Liverpool dont sack managers after a bad season, how long did Roy last again? Only difference is Roy doesn't have such a reputation around Anfield as Daglish has.
KD got the job in the same way Di Matteo is being tipped for the Chelsea job permanently now. He took over as caretaker manager and as whocares said, he had a great finish to the season last year.

If the main goal for England is to succeed at these Euros, I would've taken Crouch.

Why not take Michael Owen then?? He's got a far better record than Crouch.

But when he does play, he's far better than Crouch..

Let's put it this way, if we had 5 games to play, I'd rather see Owen play one of those games than Crouch play all 5.
And this is coming from a Newcastle fan who hates Owens guts for the way he treated our club and fans.

Crouch is a pile of poo and so god damn overrated it's insane.

i wouldnt have owen back to be honest, after his injury wrecked his career, he hasnt been a tenth as good as he was when we won the treble

also, looking forward to league 2 play off final going to wembley to support my hometown club, cheltenham town against crewe alexander
in cheltenhams history, they have played 8 play off games and won EVERY single one of them, only club in england to have 100% record in playoffs, COMEON YOUR ROBINS WE ARE GOING UP!

It's quite easy to understand what I am saying to be honest. Before John Henry Liverpool didn't sack managers after one bad season.

Since John Henry we have sacked Roy and Kenny in 18 months.

Before them we had Rafa for 6 years and Houllier for around the same time.

John Henry is giving us a reputation for sacking managers after short periods of time, Roy Hodgson being one of them.

The thing was Roy was hopeless for Liverpool. The way we played was dull and his press conferences were a shambles. Don't feel too sorry for him though because he would have binned us off for England given the chance. Kenny wouldn't give up a Liverpool job for anything else on the planet.

Kenny wound up opposition fans because he was short with the media. That was precisely how I and many others want a Liverpool manager to be. These are no friends of LFC and shouldn't be treated as such.

At least Crouch has an ability in holding the ball up. Michael Owen has not played all season basically. Why on Earth would he be picked? His game was based on pace, and he now has less than Crouch! He is finished.

I'm not saying Owen should be picked.. I'm saying if you're going to consider picking Crouch, then consider picking Owen as well. They're both passed it and are both a pile of poo.

Crouch is good as a fresh pair of legs in the last 10 minutes when you need a winner but that's all I can see in him.

At the end of the day, Carroll is only going there as a backup striker, so if Crouch went instead, he'd also be a backup striker.
Carroll will only be used as a late sub, and/or for other players injuries, he's there to be called upon when needed, so it's not a huge risk what so ever.

I dunno what our plan is. What manager in their right mind (so far only Martinez) is going to risk the wrath of their current teams fans by "having talks" with us???

Terrible.

Really not looking forward to finding out who our next manager will be, I have a feeling it will be a disaster.

Bad choices:
Downing
Johnson
Lescott
Jones

The rest aren't bad at all.

I would say Milner and Barry are bad picks as well. But thats just my own opinion. I have not seen either of them perform at all. Considering it was Barry that f%&$ed us in the World Cup v Germany when he thought he was Messi and lost the ball and then Podolski countered us... I dont think he should of been taken.

Milner, really overated and I blame players like Barry, Milner as well as a few other City players for them not pishing up the prem.

Rooney going could be completely pointless? If we lose the first two games then we are out before Rooney plays out suspension. Welbeck cant really play without Rooney I dont feel. Defoe doesn't play much.

But seriously Crouch? Guys, how has England... the creators of football, the pioneers of the sport... only got a 30+ year old Peter Crouch going for us?

Darren Bent has to get the nod over them all if he wasn't an injury concern.

But I honestly think, that through not taking key players like Sturridge, Lennon & Adam Johnson... then the strikers should have been Carroll and Grant Holt. Yes Carroll has been crap but he is a pain in the bum. Grant Holt has been great all season thought tbh. He is the inform Andy Carroll and was completely overlooked? Heskey was probs before him ha.

Can't wait for the big game lads. I just want my boys to do me proud again.

Like I said when we were set to play the 2nd leg v Napoli. I knew we could win but I just wanted my boys to do themselves justice. Cahill & Luiz fighting with fitness, hopefully they will be alright.

How it happened -

We qualified for the Knock out stages on the last group game.

Levekusen failed to beat Genk, meaning Chelsea topped the group. As a result Levekusen got Barcelona, meaning Chelsea dodged them.

Chelsea were 3-1 down to Napoli and beat them 4-1 in extra time.

Just about managed to beat Benfica with a late settler from Miereles.

Somehow managed to beat Barcelona with 10 men, no captain and 2-0 down at the Nou Camp. Where Barca had previously conceaded 6 goals in 30 games and we scored 2!

Munich beat the other Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Which all boils down to one little thing...

Bayern Munich v Chelsea, in Munich.
