And most people here were complaining about him going instead of Crouch! Laughing my head off.
Please, Crouch would've stuck that in too! Excellent header, but even better cross in.

No he wouldn't have lol... He would have gotten his legs tangled up together and fell flat on his face.

True, but Gerrard was really well positioned too and probably didn't know about Chamberlain.

Yes was well positioned BUT he knew he was taking it with his weaker foot and probably seniority issues haha :-p

Well done England....for an entertaining win.
Walcott made the difference....bit lucky goal but good assist for a great Wellbeck goal.
Next round....without a doubt....

Terrible first half as usual, brilliantly entertaining second half!
Great result for England, but I still hope we get a crack at you. I think we'd take you apart to be honest.

As I was saying Carroll is a beast... . Nah he is still very rough but he has great power in his play. Needs to refine his game though. Ibrahimovic was brilliant for Sweden again. So big and strong but also a footballer with a brain.

As I was also saying, we need to play with what we are good at. Pace on the wings and crosses into the box. Milner is a waste of a place. Ok against France I guess when we're playing for a draw but against Sweden and Ukraine then pace every time. Walcott showed exactly what pace and width can do. Has to start next game.

Surprised Roy played Gerrard + Parker the full 90. Both running on empty at the end there. Should be a couple of days rest for them ahead I think. Light sessions, Roy!

Good game though, lots of guts and effort, just wish we could keep the ball better when we are ahead! That is what we should be practising in friendlies in the future I think. Just knocking the ball about.

Young ha a nightmare and we can't say it's due to defensive duties as Cashley has them sorted pretty much. Stick chamberlain in let him run. Rory needs to take the bull by the horns and do it.

with rooney/defoe up front and the likes of walcott/young and chamberlain on the wings we should be a force to be reckoned with up front!

Who do we drop for Rooney? Walcott in for Milner, do we drop Welbeck and have Rooney playing off of Carroll or drop Carroll and have a United front pairing. Do we play all three have Rooney taking over Young's 'free role' on the left?

Dilemma here. Do we even bring in Rooney at all?

We could have:

-----------------------Hart--------------------
Johnson-----Terry-----Lescott----Cole
----------Milner---Parker---Gerrard-----
---------------------Rooney-----------------
----------Welbeck--------Carroll----------

Carroll is better than Crouch in the air. Crouch doesn't have any neck muscles to pull that off.

Yeah Crouch would have had to do one his trademark bicycle kicks and take goal of the tournament. I prefer Carroll's header, much better success rate.

Yeah, Young was dire, but he has shown enough in earlier games to suggest he might come good.

Perhaps Rooney could replace him and drift about with Carroll and Welbeck as strikers.

Think Carroll will be back on the bench though with Rooney in behind Welbeck.

I

I don't understand playin an 18 year old against France which was hodgsons most Inportant game in charge and also a huge game for an 18 year old an then not play him against Sweden after he had a good game. Give him a chance and let him loose.
