Don't start that again. I'm 20 minutes away!

And am sad enough to be arguing with you so might as well go that one step further. Plus google trends is not wrong.

I wouldn't say Everton have more fans than Liverpool in Liverpool I'd like to think it's about even but it's a fact that Everton have more local fans in their ground. I have mates who would love to go and see Liverpool but they can't due to a waiting list and fan cards an stuff, the only matches they see is the league cup games (lol).

efc4eva, calm down mate before you go that step too far. It's just banter at the end of the day.

As for Scolari, he never looked convincing, since when have Chelsea not been able to defend corners. Mourinho must be laughing his head off as Inter sit top of Serie A having got rid of Quaresema......Chelsea need to get Darren Ferguson in from Peterborough, that would be brilliant! I think in reality the job will go to Guus Hiddink, provided Abramovich is retaining his interest in the club and uses his powers of persuasion!

With regards to Nicks unquoteably long post, your squad being the 6th or 7th highest for wages doesnt mean you slightly underachieved by finishing 8th.
Any club of the size of Pompey and i include Forest (twice euro champs) in this group, that finishes 8th in the PL after what is a relatively short stay is overachieving....think how long clubs like Newcastle and Tottenham have been there milking the PL cash cow!
Its testament to both the backing of the chairman and the man management skills of the manager that this is achievable, and despite the slide starting under Harry as you mention, i would imagine most Pompey and football fans in general would have backed him to turn it around before it got as bad as it has...

Adams wasnt even a gamble, he was a sitting duck, not backed at all, you didnt hire him becuase of his exceptional previous management record, he was the cheap option for an owner wanting to get his cash back out the club!
Im not qualified enough to say whether the transfers received cleared your debts as im sure your not as well, but ill take your word for that.
As for Basinas, Pennant and Mullins improving your midfield, it must have been pretty weak before! Basinas is another ageing player, Mullins i personally dont rate any higher than Quashie (who we had at Forest) and Pennant is a disaster waiting to happen. He has the talent but his attitude is his letdown.....he ruined his career when he signed for Arsenal so young.

Having turned down Madrid because they didnt offer him enough money, then to join Pompey smacks to most of a lack of ambition. Even a die hard Pompey fan like yourself must see that and although i dont know him personally, we know a few of the same people and hed rather collect a nice pay packet to spend on a saturday night than win a trophy. First hint of a bigger club sniffing around and he will be showing his loyalty again!

I agree about confidence, Nugent in particular needs confidence and im not sure if him and Crouch are the men to fire you to safety.

Obviously all the above is just opinions sprinkled with the odd fact, same as your post and im sure we could reverse roles to debate Forests current position, all depends whether you are looking in or out!

Portsmouth are about the 30th biggest club in the country in terms of support so on that level we overachieved. However you have to judge achievement on the amount spent, historical size means nothing these days. Should Chelsea be happy finishing 8th or so?

Unlike your post I have seen and followed Pompey much closer than you. Your 5 minute observation from MOTD highlights and analysis qualifies you in no way, but it is interesting to talk with arrogant fans who don't know the situation or players but state facts that they can't backup.

It's called trolling and I don't wish to see this on the forum.
