probably would be if he went to us as well though at the moment

He's a Liverpool fan though and we are still a big draw to players, we just need to get back into winning trophies.

See I don't think Liverpool has the apeal they used to have, it's not like you go for 'half decent' players and where would you rather be? Man United Chelsea Liverpool Man City Arsenal?

Thats just the choice for big players in England, so untill Liverpool start to get into big positions winning a trophy think the 'big named player' will just over look them.

I have always thought Liverpool havent attracted the big fish, they havent bought in the big named players like Shevchenko etc, which they have done very well without.

The clubs players have been signed from have always been lower than Liverpool, this is something I have wanted Chelsea to do for years now instead of buying out of date produce.

Im always jealous when clubs buy players on good deals, bargains from clubs. Whereas we have to now pay inflated prices and never really get any fair deals.

I also dont like how we just release or flog our players for very little.

So the whole Danny Sturridge thing, it wouldnt surprise me if he went for 6million. We pretty much give away all our players. Veron, Crespo, Shevchenko, Sinclair...there are so many.

I think its more frustrating for me as im the type of person when playing football manager, I literally get the maximum for every single player and reduce wages to a minimum either if I have 300m budget. So Chelsea make me sick in this sense.

Young ignorant people with money at their disposal who literally abuse the fact Roman, who evidently cares very little about his money.

Diego Forlan has declared himself unhappy in Spain and would like to follow Aguero but would also consider England.
Man United have been linked to be reunited again with the Uraguayan striker in a deal which would see the Bulgarian target man Dimitar Berbatov going the other way.

Hmmm

Liverpool have never really bought superstars. We just make them .

The only huge name I can remember us signing was Fernando Morientes, and he was a bit of a flop.

Having said that we seem to overspending on average players this window.

Henderson £16M we will have to wait and see.

Talk of Downing for £18M I personally think is scandalous! £8M for Charlie Adam is also pushing it.

We set our stall out when signing Carroll for £35M, and I feel clubs are now taking advantage.

My solution would be to shop abroad a little bit more.

Barca reject Chelsea's £27m Villa bid

Surely Chelsea should have learnt from Sheva?

30 years old now I think Villa.

Villa is an entirely different class to shevchenko though

Not for me. Shevchenko was an amazing striker in his time. Shame about his time with Chelsea, but he was ageing and had a huge pricetag over his head.

Still he was a stunning goalscorer for Milan, and still banging them in back in the Ukraine for Dinamo.

For me David Villa is better than Shev. Shev had a tremendous goal scoring record with Milan, but it was Serie A, a poor slow standard of football, he came to England and did nothing, and I think anybody would of predicted he would of done nothing as he couldnt run, and now back in Ukraine banging the goals in. If Villa came to England, I dont think he would as he wants to retire at Barca, then he would definatly be able to adapt as he is the kind of player like Torres, and is the full package as well as having amazing hair...

But the big news... Neymar looks like hes on his way from Santos in a deal at LEAST 40 million due to his buy out clause.. and 5 clubs have agreed to play it, apprently Barca, Madrid, Chelsea, Man City and an Italian Team... only one place I can see him going and thats La Liga, but would be interesting if he signed for City

I like Villas sideburns, only a Spaniard could pull that off so well.

Italy was a very strong league when Sheva was in his prime. Milan were probably the best side about back then. 3 Champions League finals in 5 years I think they had, winning 2 out of 3. Lost to us, then beat us 2 years later.

Connor Wickham is off for a medical with the Mackems. £9M rising to £11-13M depending on which rag top you believe.

Connor Wickham signs for Sunderland, woopsie Liverpool fans, thats 3 players youve lost out on so far! Jones, Young, Wickham....

De Gea is now a Man Utd player after sealing his move also...

....Posted Image

Man City are out of the running for Sanchez, Barca look set to be his chosen destination... which is going to be interesting as Barca said a week ago they wont be spending, yet Sanchez and Fabregas seem to be going there, whom will they offload

I don't think we wanted Wickham, though we probably did show initial interest. If we did, then I am pleased he has gone as he has the chance to play first team football rather than sit on our bench. More players should take that lead.

I reckon we have probably 'missed out on' or ''passed on' 50 players so far this window.

I'm very chilled out right now about the transfer window and confident we will get the high priority players.
---

Barca will probably be selling Villa, Ibrahimovic, Bojan, Jeffren and possibly Thiago which would make them about £80M.

Thiago is a star and availiable at around £10M if you believe the papers.

When you consider Wickham has just gone for £12M then that is serious value.

Look abroad redmen!

Also interesting to note that Connor Wickham has it in his contract that if Sunderland fail to qualify for Europe next year, then that will trigger a "release clause" on his contract allowing him to speak to new clubs who offer £12M.

Oh and if any club wants Thiago now... - well his release clause is 90M Euros.

Also, and you won't find this in any newspapers (yet) but some fella I know, who knows a guy who does know... reckons Ever Benega is United bound after Copa America.

:O

Lets see.

Revealed: Why Liverpool couldn't compete for Wickham

Published 23:00 29/06/11 By David Maddock

Liverpool's pursuit of Connor Wickham was scuppered by their failure to cut their own wage bill.

Henderson, Downing, Mata, Phil Jones, Wickham, and Doni.

All players heavily linked with Liverpool.

Wickham, Henderson and Doni (2nd choice keeper from Roma) all look nailed on.............

Some respected 'ITK' (In the know...) on twitter says:

-Scott Danns Reps were at melwood monday/tuesday.
-'positive' talks with Jaun Mata's agent have occurred.
-An agreement is nearly reached to capture Joey Barton.
-Charlie Adam will be a LFC player.
-Young will come to LFC to play 1st team football and fight for Champions League. Young has established himself in the England team and doesn't want to ruin that by playing second fiddle to Nani, Valencia Etc.
- Liverpool will join the race for Benzema if we fail to convince Aguero to sign for us, and Adebayor signs fully for Real Madrid.

Woopsie. Quite a bit of wrong information here that you mentioned Mr Kop.

Thats twitter for you.

If I told you LFC were paying Joe Cole 175K a week (effectively), Milan Jovanovic 70K a week(effectively), Christian Poulsen 50K a week, and Paul Konchesky 40K a week then you begin to understand just how bad Roy Hodgson was for Liverpool. (All his signings)

Now of course, none of them will leave because nobody in there right mind would come near to that, and yes they are ££££ motivated.

Ngog failed to agree terms with Sunderland because they offered him less money than he was on here. It's pure greed.

Our new owners don't like old players, John Henry on twitter today said he would not sanction signigs over a certain age. He also said when taking over Liverpool just how huge our wage bill was, and that he wanted it reduced.

Good to see a bit of business accuman from our new owners, and until we flog those donkeys then we will probably not make many signings.

Oh yeah and stop being a WUM soft lad. Forest would snap our hands off for some of those rejects if it wasn't for the fact they would reject you.
