Greece vs South Korea

This closely contested game was hard fought between two majestic nations. South Korea took an ealry lead after scoring in the 15th minute from a superb long shot.

The clock seemed to tick by and the Koreans went into the changing rooms at half time 1-0 to the good

Greek Manager FUZY seemed to make a rallying speech as Greece came out after the break and kept possession and pressuring the Korean Keeper who pulled off some magnificent saves

The Koreans eventually got hold of the ball but couldnt keep it for long and the greeks danced their way through the korean defense and were given a penalty after a blatant dive by number 9.

the captain stepped up to take the penalty and the korean keeper gave the old crazy legs to try put him off

it worked

the keeper dived to his left to pull of a magnificent save.

The greeks surged forward once again reluctantly and the koreans stopped them time after time

then, in the 94th minute, the greeks pushed for one last attack and finally, after all their hard work it was rewarded with a goal

brazil maintained constant pressure throughout the half and restricted north korea to one long range shot that curled wildly and went out for a throw

constant pressure from brazil left korea without a shot on target in the whole game.

not a great game for the nuetrals but brazil fans will be happy with the good start to their promising campaign.

north korea will be hoping to maintain some respect for the remainder of their campaign in which qualification looks extremely doubful.

their manager in interview afterwards said "we just didnt have enough training done beforehand and we totally unprepared, it was a disaster for our fans. all credit to brazil they came and did what they came to do and we wish them look in their remaining games"

Cameroon 2-0 Japan

In a tight first half both teams were restricted in chances early on, with both teams lacking a cutting edge in the final thrid. It wasn't until the 43rd minute when the dealock was broken, when a free kick hit by Geremi was saved by the Japanese keeper, only for Arsenal's Alexandre Song to tap in the rebound.

Half-time: 1-0

After the break Cameroon came rushing forward to try to put the game to rest. Despite creating numerous chances they were only able to score a second, when Samuel E'to was sent through on goal following an inch perfect through ball from Alexandre Song, who has having a fantastic game. E'to used his classy skill to round the keeper and double Cameroon's lead in the 71st minute. Cameroon defended their lead well and after the match manager Bak2biscuits said 'It was a great performance from the players today, plenty of positives can be taken from todays game and we will look to continue this form throughout the remainder of the group stage.'
