England are out!!! Lets concentrate on the teams still in it!

Japan look good, spain are ok, pass well. Brazil are class, but lack at the back i reckon, ditto with argentina. Portugal, nope. Uruguay are good, forlan has been great, cant win it me thinks.

I actually think with Lucio, Juan, Alvez, Maicon they are great at the back.

Even Felipe Melo? (the LM playing LB is doing his job well.)

Portugal will beat Spain on pens. You heard it here 1st

If you think about it, really, do we have cover for most positions? I mean World Cup quality covers? Cause I don't think we do, especially compared to teams like Spain and Brazil and Argentina who have quality galore to cover.

After our starting XI we are definitely not as strong as others. Having said that Brazil brought on Kleberson today.... :\

Argentinas World Cup this year, backed them for a while and Higuain for top GS!

The Kleberson sub I think was just to give him the right to say he's played at the World Cup which in it's right proves my point, Brazil can afford (ok maybe at 3-0 up) to bring on one of the worst Brazilians out there! England would never get away with that!

Having said that... Heskey.

This is what annoys me about the English public, Johnson can defend, clearly. If he couldn't he'd be a right winger. Maybe our "fans" should pay less attention the mistakes the players make, and more so to the things they do right, maybe that way we'd have some belief.

What did they do right?

Please help me out, im scratching my brain here. England were poor overall well, it was below poor. It was such a contrast of ability between us and everyone else. It was so clear, it would be like me joining the professional snooker circuit with my highest break of 56.

And whoever said Gerrard will get good feedback from the national press must be kidding. Captain of his club and not once did I see him try to raise the players spirits on the pitch. I don't think Gerrard played any better than Heskey and I dont think Heskey was any better than Capello.

The thing none of the English seem to understand is that you lose as a team and win as a team. But we don't even play like a team. We would of come undone against Ghana, Paraguay, Chile and any other team that made the last 16. We aren't good enough.

I hope Capello walks!

Bring in Shearer and Beckham!! Woah! What a team that would be!

Or try and get the special one...if he cant solve the puzzle...

Exactly what I've said all along. There is no squad depth within the England team.

You only have to look at Spain and they bring on players like Torres, Fabregas. Brazil bring on Nilmar, Alves and Grafite. Holland have Elia, Hunterlaar and Van Der Vaart. Argentina have Aguero, Milito, Bolatti and Palermo. Whereas our bench is, Heskey, Carrick, SWP.

The caliber of players is significantly varied and it showed.

Out of the whole 23 England squad, in 4 years time there will be only -

Joe Hart - 27
Aaron Lennon - 27
Wayne Rooney - 28
James Milner - 28
Glen Johnson - 29

Those 5 players younger than 30.

Thats 18 places that will need replacing and we dont even have squad depth as it is.

Its not quite panic stations as yet, but its mighty close here.

I love England I do, I dont expect them to win it, I dont expect Semis, I dont expect Quarters or last 16's just aslong as we try our best and I dont think we did.

The media and football pundits should be shot and get off their backs with expectation. But the lads dont give 100%. The only player that gave 100% was Heskey and he is still useless at this level with his 100%, just wasnt good enough.

Also whats everyones opinions on football technology?

Personally I feel it would ruin the game of football we all know and love. But I understand the reason for wanting it, Especially being a Chelsea and England fan.

Even though more times than not its disadvantaged my football teams I still dont want it in because it takes the banter and takes 'IT' aspect out of the game.

But like its been said, football is all about money these days, and one decision can cost a club 80million pounds, or even a Champions league final against United for the second year running! Lol.

Final word - You didnt need goal line technology to see that Lamps shot was way over the line from the lino's position, Fact.

You should do a degree in bullshineeeeeeee.

Gerrard scored 1, set one up. In a campain where you score 3 goals, not half bad.

He certainly played better than Lampit.

The captain never really comes out with bad press, bar a few exceptions, having affairs, putting a ball into orbit from the spot. Gerrard has done nothing wrong this campaign he scored aset up and did his job, better than most on the pitch may I add.

This proves my point perfectly. It's about finding what they've done right, whether it being the current campaign or the qualifiers and building on that, bringing the feeling of success back to the helm and willing the team on. The fans of today are far too fickle one mistake and we're worse than Scotland and one win and we're World beaters, needs to be constant support not just when we're winning.

On the subject of youngsters coming through. I think it's time for a rule change in English Football. Put a rule in place where a certain percentage of a teams match sqaud has to be english. This would have more people hopefully playing more football at the highest level which should make better players come through.

This is the World Cup Thread why should there be another thread about England? Pretty pointless nothing wrong with discussing it here.

Actually i disagree strongly. Not everyone here is from england, and to hear about your teams troubles all day every day is wearing thin. Your out. You were not good enough. Deal with it.
There is another thread dedicated entirely to england not being there! What more could you ask for.

The world cup is still going and its hotting up. Plenty of teams and players to talk about.

Paraguay v Japan is a snoozefest!

Thought it would be a pretty good game.

Yes but the majority of the site are English and it's still World Cup related so there really is no problem at all, as with most posts on the forum if you don't like it don't read it? Not trying to be rude but it's really that simple. The thread is not needed because of there already being a thread relevant.

Anyway, had Paraguay to win on pens 5 duke on it so we'll see!
