I can't tell if you were being sarcastic or not by saying Well done England.

We played awful. Yes we dominated the first half but we didn't play well by any means. Rooney was the only person who looked slightly decent and that was only for the first 40 minutes.

Disgraceful performance, yet I'm not surprised by it at all.

Dominated for 45 min is disgraceful? Dont agree at all. 2nd half just coasted, didnt fight for it at all and just let them on, but England were never going to Concede 2 second half goals.

Needed a draw. Got a draw. Gotta be happy

England will fail again, carry on like that we won't even get past the group.

Wayne Rooney has that Ronaldo attitude, where anyone who he cannot get the better of he kicks out at them.

Yeah, thanks for that, Wayne. In the pub last night we all decided that the guy is actually borderline retarded. :\

Just reading back, and I cannot believe that I have just read that Defoe and Suarez are on the same level.

Noooo, Defoe is terrible.

Thing is we had all this last time we played at Anfield when we said Suarez would run rings round United and Lucas would keep their midfield quiet.

It happened and united went away with their tail between their legs having been given a lesson by Suarez.

We do not underestimate United. Thing is we quietly respect United, but fully expect our team to give them a whooping when they come to Anfield, and I fully believe we will do.

Great post. United have our grudging respect, doesn't mean we won't batter them around Anfield (again) for fun on Saturday.

Nani the proberbly most on form player as of yet, will be kept quiet by Enrique? Are you actually taking in what you are writing? Nani will be running up and down like he is not there

Enrique will just outpace, outmuscle and bully him for 85 minutes.

Then Carra will come in and make him again.

Why do you all want Rooney for England? He's been absolutely terrible at major competitions and outside of England, hasn't he?

I agree with m_wood on his posts about the England game. The standards and expectations of the rest of you are too high. England is just not a world-class team and there is little indication they will be in the near future.

Well, when you consider how much each England player is being paid, and how much they are worth, then you have to have a bit better expectations than drawing with Montenegro.

Other than Mirko Vucinic and Stefan Jovetic, that is a poor Montengro team. A team we should be beating, especially when we go 2-0 up.

True, but most of England's players are overpaid and, more importantly, overrated.

How many of the England World Cup Squad were in the Squad last night, 6 or 7. And yet people STILL Moan. Give it a rest.

Rooney has done well in International Competition. Euro 2004 with he had Michael Owen ahead of him. And jumping on Waynes back because of a red card, only his second since World Cup 2006 give the guy a break, hes Englands best player.

Focusing on how poor England were, yet they dominated the first half. Why focus on the negative?

England have qualified and will be in Euro 2012. They wont be favourites with this new squad and thats a good thing and could benefit England, just look at Bobby Robson and the England of i think 86 or 88 when England were poor, Robsons first tournament, and then look at Italia 90, semi finals.

He's done well in international competition??
2004 was his first tournament and he did well, but not well enough to get England further.
2006 was a horror show (he shouldn't have played if he was injured). Red card cost England big-time when it mattered.
2008 - awkward lol
2010 - another horror show.

He has suffered from the overall poor ability of those England teams, but he hasn't performed when it really mattered.

m_wood you say we dominated the first half as if it comes as a surprise. We should be dominating the whole game against a team like Montenegro.

And as I said before, dominating the first half doesn't mean we played well, it just means we played better than the other team.

We were extremely poor... No point denying it.

England are class though, look at how the premiership is evolving and how the players are scoreing in fantasy football, there all on form great players!!!

Ill put my neck on the line .... I think we'll win the competition!!!

Sying that though i am one patriotic guy, Love my country get behind the lads i say!!

Remember back to the appauling decision on that Lampard goal that wasnt given, we were back in the game had the decision been done correctly. But then everyone slated us because Germany took the second half by the horns.

If i was in the side and we got screwed by that decision i probably would of given up myself!!

Rooney is an absolute retard but then again its probably just in his head he loses it slightly and there is nothing abnormal about that really.

England are through, top of the group!!! Lets av it!!!!!!!!!

England played better for about 10-15 minutes of that game. They were completely outclassed and outplayed in the rest.

About the premier league- it is the best league in the world. However, many of the star players do not play for England! Young English talent rarely has a chance to prove itself in big situations, because those are dominated by the big teams with loads of foreigners.
When the World Cup comes- they crap their pants when they play big teams. The Premier League is good- too good for England.

But hasn't Rooney not long come back from an injury? And that coupled with what's gone on with his father, he couldn't have been in a good way before the match.

Don't get me wrong there is a reason I am not a manager, but surely he can't have been mentally stable enough to play a big part in that game.

I don't understand his decision leaving Downing out of the starting 11 either (and before you have a go at Liverpool m_wood look at how bad your own team are doing) Downing has been great this season both for Liverpool and England.

So... How much money did Rooney's dad have on a red card in this game ay?

I didn't watch the game personally and don't feel I have missed out which is always the case with England, nearly as boring to watch as Strictly come dancing.

I personally think he should have played Andy Carroll... People don't realize just how good he is. Maybe not worth 35 million YET, but I have no doubt that once he starts scoring a lot of goals at Liverpool (which he will), and once he gets some more England caps under his belt, he could well be one of the best players in the prem...

I also say drop John Terry & Frank Lampard. They're good, and they have a lot of experience, but I really think it's time they moved on from international games, and made way for some younger players.
