It stops you from playing the ridiculous cuts and instead playing for a decent position on every shot, thus paramounting positional play. How could that not improve your game?

I got to say it is a bit irritating.

Until I read this thread I just thought my eyes are going as I missed more pots than usual.....thought I was way off form.

But look at the top 50 break stats on reg/power and original today at 23.55...amazing!!!!!
only 4 reg centuries
no original centuries
and only the top 8 on power are cents(usually the top 30 or 40 are cents)

potentially people could get dispirited and fall away......I will keep trying but for how long??????

Part of the pleasure of the game is getting breaks ...the top guys 147's ,the next level centuries and the lesser lights halfs and so on ....
All will not be as good as they were whether your a 600 with one half in 1000 games or those who like to add up their cents ,maxes etc

You'll get used to the new animation eventually. How many people can honestly say they are distracted by the chat box and/or flashing adverts?

The whole site is a waste of time (much like the rest of the internet!!)
There is nothing to be gained from playing, apart from a bit of enjoyment, and some personal satisfaction when you master certain aspects of the game.
These new updates might make some things a bit tougher, but doesn't that increase the personal satisfaction when you finally do master them??

I've quite happily wasted dozens of hours on here, maybe even hundreds, and look forward to wasting many more.

The way i see it, we've all got 2 options....
1. stop crying, dry your eyes and get on with it
2. set up your own snooker website with things just the way you like them

ive never posted before but feel i have to contribute to this thread,i love this site and really enjoy all aspects of what it offers,you will never halt progress,things will always be changing to allow the site to evolve,the stats show that high breaks are down,this cant be right? people who have been playing for years are struggling to put a 50 together,ive spoken to people who are losing interest,ive seen it said "cant be arsed to learn all over again" maybe its a mental thing,confidence is everything in this game,i applaud progress but it must be made for the right reasons,new players could join this site and become proficient quite quickly, knock a 50 in and be hooked for life,anything that makes that more difficult is in my eyes counter productive,i love the game and im trying hard to improve,anyway thats my humble slant on things,sorry if i may have offended anyone,best regards Ian

i was saying this for the majority off ppl on here who dont like the updates, least off all me as i will happily plod along playing carom, cant make pockets tighter on there

Game absolutely ruined - the end.
What a Catastrophe - no enjoyment now.
People come start a game - four shots in - poof, they are gone.
Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaase put the game back prior to these cartoon balls.
Gee - the game is just awful. It's not just the pockets, easy shots go wide by a mile.
Just please, please please, sometimes the old way is the best. Some improvements ruin and have the opposite effect. Surely enough people have expressed their frustration to go back - surely.... please, for the sake of the world, the universe and everything lets have the beautiful game back

only 2 original cents(thats 2 in 48 hours for anyone)
only 5 regular cents(9 in 48 hours)
only 3 cents in arcade ......whaaaat??!!!!

seb and mike is right, sure atm people aren't making century after century but in time they will.

just have to learn at your own pace.

only thing with me in cushions is a lot harder but thats why i like the change because it can only make us work harder to get better.

more pace you hit it less chance of it going which is how it should be

thats what we all saying james, the games been turned upside down, we dont want to learn again, the time ppl put in perfecting there games in each game type has been wasted

Is it only me, or are others that have been around for a long time getting the feeling of deja vu? I remember lots of moaning when Nick improved the rendering of the balls (so they were more accurate) and what I said then still holds true:

"Nick has put a lot of time and effort into improving the site and gameplay and is doing a fantastic job. I think it is only common courtesy for people to respect this and put in a small amount of effort into adapting to the changes and not to just 'take the hump' based on a temporary loss of form."
