no it is clear the cheat robbed timpark of a frame winning opportunity by not attempting a fair shot which would have left timpark on

Again, as buddytobud says, there is a line between a foul shot and cheating.

It's not cheating, otherwise they would be banned. It's a foul shot, not cheating.

And anyway, if they do it just put them back in from the position they tapped the white to if its still in a bad spot.

People need to see the difference between a foul shot and an illegal shot, which clearly in this example people can not see it.

its against the rules of snooker not to atempt the shot so yes eemad it is cheating in my eyes and im not alone

im guessing your one who uses the cheating tactic

That has no relevance what so ever, stop starting arguments, just drop it, there are no /cheats/ for Funky and that's that.

This gets mentioned twice a week.

A simple way to solve this problem... is don't be a wet blanket and result in snookering.

If you fluked the safety then who cares if they roll out! You can always make the other player play the shot from where the ball lies.

You dont have any disagvantage.

I don't actually see any problem with rolling out.

Or a reason for it to be mentioned again after me owning it.

It's not cheating on this site though! If it was there would be a greater punishment, read the rules for the snooker games on this site and find that rule for me then.

You really can't call it a cheating tactic as it's a tactic which clearly works.

And so what if I do anyway? Has no relevance at all, and actually i'm probably one of the most aggresive players on here, so I don't even go like that.

Maybe if you used this tactic you may become a half decent player (ranked and skill wise)

must admit ive used this in the past on the dark side to win a clan game as if i attempted to hit the ball i would have lost.

perhaps people use this tactic because of that and in which case is very smart and using your brain.

This topic isn't really worth arguments since we all accept that it can't be solved for this game.
I disagree with using it in snooker. Not a legitimate tactic, comparable to diving in football. Sure it may win you games, but I would personally rather not win like that than sink to such a level.
On pool it is a whole different story since those tactics are common in the real game as well.

And that is why pool should never be brought into this debate, as it's far from unsporting on there, it's a very powerful tool.

might use it on pool more then

but done it once on snooks but can't remember when it was.

i have had it used on me on both sites and doesn't bother me, if a ball is potable and i can get position i will take it on

For you it ain't, but within the rules of the game it is perfectly fine, not cheating, just a foul. It's a massively used tactic in pool.

Snooker yes it is not within the rules at all, you forefit the game I believe if you do use this tactic, but for this site it's not this way and can never be for the same reason a half decent foul and miss rule could be introduced.

This 'tactic' of making no attempt to play for a red is disgusting and it's disappointing that players take advantage of the fact that there's no rule to stop it.
Players have been known to do it in our local snooker league as they know a miss won't be called (and theres no rule as such because the refs cant call it) and they are known as cheats so IMO the players on here are also cheats.

And regarding all the talk about it's a rule in the world of pool, in the new 'World Rules' that the EPA use, the 'deliberate foul' was brought in to speed up the games as in the old rules there was too much covering of pockets meaning the game would drag on.
