What is point of that post!?
No one is gettin all stressed! I would not be proud either if i was gettin annoyed on this game
I doubt anyone even gets bothered when people do this to them, they just want to know if there are any rules which can be put in to stop people from doing it.

that part.

sorry my post didn't come across way it intended but people just do it (some to win, some tactically) but point i was trying to make is it can't be fixed (same with eemad) so they just gotta deal with it cheating or not.

same with cheat lag on carom or tapping on killer but its the same thing (maybe carom could be fixed but who knows)

just an online game people

I know it can't be fixed. Said that a few times.
That doesn't mean I or others that are bothered by it should be happy about it. That's why it gets addressed here.
Maybe through discussion someone one day has a brilliant idea and finds a way to implement this rule. Discussion (without fighting) can't hurt.

yeah, used to annoy me it really did, its an unsporting tactic what people use to their advantage.

and if it could get implemented in the future, great.

Yeah it is unsporting, but every sport has unsporting tactics, like football and players diving. You just have to get on with it unfortunately.

Agreed good post,
Tapping on killer is your choice though, it is terrible when it is done to you, but i am sure we all do it
The very best on carom and respected players just lag normally but yea; is it not a official rule the ball can not go in the oppenents half when lagging?

But anwyway arcade has been about since this site started i think, and this problem will have been happening since then, and no brilliant ideas has been thought off, Just got to take it i suppose.

There are rare occassions too when people lag in an attempt to take the shot and give the appearance of playing a push shot.

Just another ingredient to add to the discussion soup

That has actually happened to me a few times. Anybody that knows me knows I a) hate tapping and b) enjoy attempting to escape snookers. Not that those two points have anything really to do with the whole discussion more of a back up to my above point about lagging

^ true.
Another element is that a fair few players don't actually now that pushing out is not allowed in snooker (because they are used to the rules on funky). That's another reason, why I think creating awareness could help with the situation.
No one wants to be branded a cheater, so making people aware of it can help reduce the number.
There have been several occasions where people pushed out on me and I pointed it out to them- they replied they had no idea and it wouldn't happen again. Lovely story I know...

I've read these posts and i'm under no illusion that that rolling out of snookers or when on a colour rolling tight on a red isn't just plain cheating, end off. Had it done to me few times now mostly by the so called big players(wont give names) and it has contributed to me loosing semis/ finals etc. Getting sick of it. I am an okay player but its something i have never nor will ever do even if doing it could result in winning me an important match.

I know theres nothing that can be done about this problem but players should just play honestly to make the game more enjoyable.

I think it's just a shameful, yellow 'tactic'.

How about if, when snookered (the game can figure this out mathematically, the problem is it cant decide whether someone has tried to escape to the best of their ability) unless another ball is hit, it is re-taken?

Not perfect I know, but encourages people to try to get out of the snooker and if they miss but hit something other than the object ball they only foul once.

While that is a decent solution, the logical alternative to a push shot would be to play the cueball off the snookering ball and leave it in a similar position to the normal push shot.

Would it be possible to program it to be put back if you hit the ball you are nearest? Or insert some sort of extra criteria?
Calculate the distance from cueball to object ball and then power needed for the cue to travel that distance? That doesnt take lag into account though but no solution is a perfect solution

Good ideas there by Spins and Dec but as you say there are no perfect solutions (plus with Dec's idea, that could still be hard to determine as a ball could be close but the path quite long, etc.)

Also, not sure what you mean arpeggi about the "tappers"
