is there any way the owner can fix the "snooker" situation.

i.e ive noticed a few people just playing safe from being snookerd..is there anyway you can put a "replace" the ball back to the snooker if a player dosent make a genuine attempt to get out of the snooker

i think this is cheating tbh..and if players want to win that bad by cheating, i would give you the game all you have to do is ask

but its suppose to be a fair game between 2 players, i dont vwant to mention anynames but it would suprise you whos doing this

cheers davie

This coming from the guy that plays me and plays safe constantly, but then again you dont see me complaining, its not mentioned in the rules and is allowed in real life so i suppose they cheat to do they?

Who is saying that playing safe is cheating? I thought he was moaning about people not making an attempt at a valid shot.

Players have been known to do it in our local snooker league as they know a miss won't be called (and theres no rule as such because the refs cant call it)

Well you need to sort your league out.

League ref's can, and should, use the miss rule.

Our refs have been calling 'miss' for the last six seasons.

When i say ref's, i mean that a player from the home team is the referee, not an actual qualified ref, so it is not possible to use the miss rule.

Even professional refs call a miss when it was very harsh to call miss so it would be impossible to be brought into a local league.

Not in a league or tournament....

I think he is.

I'll gladly take posting advice but I would prefer it you didn't TELL me what I should do before I post.

When i say ref's, i mean that a player from the home team is the referee, not an actual qualified ref, so it is not possible to use the miss rule.

That's exactly how our league operates, home team put up the ref and we still operate the miss rule.

The only exception being cup games where a 1st div team can draw a 5th div team and then it's agreed not to play the miss rule as most of the 5th div players could be in the same snooker some time.

Wow! I'm amazed you are allowed to use the miss rule!
That would create so many arguments as to whether you attempted to play to hit or not.
Will never be implemented in our league, too many fights would break out lol

false. Have you ever played real snooker? It can't be implemented here, I accept that. But that doesn't mean it is acceptable to push out.

I do play REAL snooker but this isn't REAL snooker and since it can't be implemented why not take advantage?

The reason the rules exist are to make the game enjoyable.
If you abuse the loophole due to technology, you're undermining the game and making it less enjoyable.
It's a character question. We all know that's how it should be, so why abuse it.
It's like playing football without a referee. Do you lunge into others, knowing you can't be sent off? No. You could apply this to all situations.

Although it is not clear from the example, I assume that what is meant is that by potting the loose red it means that there are not enough balls left on the table to win without snookers that, due to the position left, might be highly problematical (since otherwise 'play again' would be a viable option)

Just to comment on this point, a "foul and a miss" is not in effect in the snookers required stage, so can never be called.

The thing is, there is nothing that you can do about it on this site. The foul and miss rule needs a ref and that isn't going to happen. No point moaning about it, just get on with it.

Who cares really, I arnt the best on here but if you push out I am definatly capable of getting you back into a safe position and i'm more than happy getting 4+ points each shot!

Also do we forget nuthing stops you putting them back in.

It's like on a break you pot a red snooker behind 2/3reds no way out why risk the frame tap up get a foul happy days you can do it I can do it, you get the points and if your such a good player you would make me stuggle with the game!

Also before all of you start to say 'I don't do this' I proberbly played alot of you and I no what you all do and don't do before we try and make ourselfs to be the hero of snooker.

Well, you are gaining an unfair advantage by doing something that you full-well know is against the rules of snooker.
I don't think that's right. A lot of people agree. Just because it can't be implemented it doesn't mean you should take advantage of it. As I said, I think it's a character question.
There are people on here that will abuse this inconvenience. When they do it against me, they land on the ignore list and I will certainly not play them again. Nothing else we can do.
