MSN/facebook/youtube can cause lag also.
a fast computer shouldn't have trouble with those but for the slow computers it can make a difference.
game booster download from google is another thing you can try as it shuts down un needed applications for most effective gaming experience it can.

This was the most appropriate thread I could find:
I'm noticing that every now and then I lose connection with both funky sites for roughly 2 minutes. The forums won't load, the game logs me out. After 2 minutes, everything is back to normal. I've lost a couple of killer games in a row on pool that way, nothing here yet.
As has been described many times before, it's not my router, since I was watching live football on the laptop at the same time.
Any solutions?

This happens to me also , it just logs me out for no reason and is fine again after a few mins. Its very annoying and something ive never had before

Yeah same, I forgot to mention that. This has only happened in the last 2 days.

I have had similar experiences myself. I was in a Killer (10 man) game and got "not responding 15/90" etc, then logged out. When I got back in all the people had been logged out the same.
Also one time got logged out the same way and when I logged back in got the "Tip you are the only saddo in chat room try somewhere else to chat" message, then everyone else started to log back in. So clearly everyone had been logged out then.
Don't know why ?

For legal and moderating reasons I must point out, it doesn't really say saddo in the message, that was my idea of a joke
Although in my case clearly true

In my case, it was only me that was getting disconnected (while still watching a live stream at the same time). That's how I lost killer

This is something many people dont seem to understand. When watching streaming video, listening to audio, downloading files, or using chat such as MSN, your computer could be downloading that content by tens or hundreds of different connections at the same time, picking up new ones if the connection is lost to others.
To connect to the game server, you are relying on one.

I didn't say the server went down. I tried to highlight that when I said that I was the only one getting logged out.
I still got disconnected from only this site. I was hoping someone else had found a fix to this.

I never mentioned server issues either, I was pointing out how different the types of connection are.
The problem with finding a fix is that, like lag, it is an entirely individual thing. Are you using wireless, have you tested any ADSL filters, are you running a third party firewall (Zonealarm is notorious for messing up gaming connections) etc etc.

Yes to wireless
I don't know what an ADSL filter is
No firewalls (except Norton)
I know it's all very complicated, but other game servers didn't crash on me in the past. I played yahoo pool before funky and a few other game servers too.
I don't expect funky to be as reliable of an engine as yahoo, but acknowledgement that there is an issue that affects lots of users would be a good first step.

Yes, its an issue affecting lots of users but it is nothing to do with funkypool, we can't come round and provide all users with wired, reliable connections can we?
Just think about it logically, it really is very simple.
Connections to other sites are totally irrelevant. If you have a dodgy wire on a table lamp, it will only affect that lamp. The other appliances in your house will be fine, so you wouldn;t think of blaming the power company would you?

Yeah, so by that logic, it's only our connections with funky that are a problem, not with other sites.

I'll try again, one more time.
How do you know the connection with other sites isnt dropping as well?
As I have tried to explain, when you are steaming video or audio, using chat services or downloading files, you can be using hunderds of connections at one time, so you could drop 100 connections during the time you are streaming your video, and not notice any difference.
But if you drop the one connection to funkysnooker, obviously, you do notice.

That makes sense.
Why am I using hundreds of connections for streaming video, but only 1 connection to funky?

Because, extremely simplified, thats how the internet works
16:06 Thu 19 Jan 12 (GMT) [Link]
See, I think that's where I struggle to understand. One site (yahoo games for example) uses hundreds of connections so I don't get kicked off, where another site only uses one connection so I do get kicked off?
Is that just explained by funky being a smaller site?
As I tried to post this, my one connection with funky failed again

The only time i get logged out of the game or can't get on is when everyone else is having the same problem, which is very rare, so it seems like it's something on your end.
