Definitely.
The real problem here is the couple of 100 regulars on the site never seem to get input...
For example wouldn't this thread be better if we were all replying to Nick's announcement which said something along the lines of:
"Hi guys,
I have allowed newbies to enter tournaments, I am hoping to increase the number of entries.
please see how it goes and post feedback here. We will review the situation after a week"
ban them from torns
so annoying especially resetters

Hey All,
I tend to agree that newbies are a pain in the butt ... but hey guys we were all newbies at one time.
Some one might have said this already. BUT ......
Why not have newbie tourneys, where only newbies can play, obviously the ranking point and tourney points are lot less than more experienced games.

Ban someone for resetting their stats? Lmao! What rule are they breaking there? It's down to the individual what they do with their account. If it wasn't for the reset function, think how many deactivated profile's there would be!!!
If i'm not mistaken, this thread was made by the Lord, power snooker king, the Brazil of snooker & god like supreme player... m_wood (His words, not mine). If that is the status you believe to have then what does it matter if someone has reset and started again? You should beat them anyways Mr. power snooker king! Regardless if they reset or not....

My opinion is mine, yours is yours... do you see me posting something like that after yours? Plain disrespectful...

I think it's you fella that needs to "back up a little".
I stated my opinion on the reset matter, no dig at welshie...
To slatty:
As for getting at woody... look at his profile, anything i said that was made up? Or is it posted all over his about me? Also, i used the wink and sticky out tongue smiley's, hence having a bubble.
To woody:
At the end of the day, your suppose to be a "master" at this game... yet moan when you get beat. So it's, let's kick newbies out from tourney's, make them play 1000 games. Don't let people reset etc. All because you lost 8.0 or whatever in rank on an online game! Take a breather, think about it. Maybe you may come to your senses then.
And back to you Mr slatz:
End of... Aint got anything else to say on the matter. You were rude to me after i stated my opinion. In my eyes, that's not on.
Edit: I realised it looked as if it was posted to one person.

I can see where Monsieur Woody is coming from, I can also see the benefit of having more people enter a tournament........one thing I have noticed though is that people tending to reset is a common theme, if there is an option to do it and people want to do it......cool ........wouldnt bother myself though, i'm happy being mediocre and showing it to the world aha

Sorry I didn't realise anyone would take welshie's comment seriously. It was so obviously way out that I thought we were having some fun with it?
1) I don't think I'm a master of the game at all. I have never indicated otherwise and never will, I don't understand where that comment comes from.
2) I also don't believe i'm a bad loser... I lose often enough so should know...

Obviously not, tbh I'm fine with the newbies joining. Never said otherwise either
Fair enough, can't deny it came across a bit rude. It wasn't intended to offend. Believe it or now woody and I aren't your enemy.

Lmao.
I know woody's sense of humour, hard to miss it! That's why i was being comical with my post.
And the master statement wasn't to you, apologies... I was replying to the post woody stated about tournament games.
I'll edit it, so everyone can understand...

Clearly nobody is actually reading the words I write so ill repost it for you.
The point is, some of these people that are Newbies, ARE newbies and dont have a clue how to pot Balls because they havent played before, or have played 10 games and dont know what they are doing... therefore, it is a waste of time them entering, hence they should be banned... you only need 10 Newbies entering Tournament and the tournment lasting an extra Hour than it would normally. That, is the point
Where did i moan about getting beat? Nowhere. I dont moan thanks. I stated facts. I couldnt give a crap if a 'newbie' beats me with a 147// it means nothing to me... but to play for example Power Snooker, a 15 minute game, against somebody who is a newbie where it be brand new to the game or a fake newbie.. and you win 0.2 points... even in a tournament is pretty pointless.
You are forgetting, that FunkySnooker has been around maybe 8 years... and Newbies were not permitted to enter touraments for 7.9 of those years.
Lets relate it to football..
Premier League has 20 teams.. well lets extend it to 35 teams and enter 15 teams from the Blyd Spartons League.. ... what would be the point for the 20 established teams. None.

That's why old school players, (myself included) dont enter them anymore woody...
Hence, there played for rank & anyone could join ie: newbies, fake newbies, adept, pro & virt)
They used to be more of an achievement back in the day, considering there were only a handful to join! Now, there is a tourney every what.... 30 minutes? (Not sure if that's correct)
The added pressure of rank and as you say, not knowing the full capability of your opponent is sickening to players like myself. Especially when rank makes no difference in my book anymore. I been there and done it so to speak. So, what is the benefit for players like myself who aint interested in rank or the buzz they dont produce like the old times? And players like yourself who hate fake newbies?
How about we mix it up a bit...
Tournaments stay as they are... but let's say every hour or two there's a tournament exactly like they used to be?
What is people's opinion on that?
Then on your profile you could have:
Tournament wins (Ranked)
Tournament wins (Friendly)
Tournament wins (Old School)
Something like that.
